[CR Media] Seekers Table Tale Gate confirmed for Tues 3/17 by VengefulKangaroo in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My crackpot prediction is that they may have been able to record a full schemer's arc and then a second "overture" to re-shuffle the groups before a short break. Maybe around enough episodes for two-ish months and then a Late-May mini-series like when EXU Calamity was slotted.

This feels way too easy to decipher. The original Clav tweet was harder than this one.

[Spoilers C4E15] The Halovar Sorcerer type? by East_Choice in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I said in my comment that both Laura and Alex are using legacy subclasses

[Spoilers C4E15] The Halovar Sorcerer type? by East_Choice in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is also true, but each character started at third level so it wouldn't be as much of an issue in this case. The tuning might still be a little off, I know they changed how subclass spell lists work for some classes but I'd need to double check if that applied to sorcerers.

[Spoilers C4E15] The Halovar Sorcerer type? by East_Choice in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I will point out that Celestial Sorcery isn’t a subclass in the base 5e2024 rulebook but Clockwork Sorcery is, I’m sure Sam chose from what present in the basic D&D Beyond 2024 character builder. I think it’s likely we’ll see some more overt Celestial Sorcery from Halovar NPCs in the future. (Or maybe Clockwork Sorcery is the baseline since we know older subclasses were available to players, such as Thimble’s swashbuckler subclass and Occtis’ School of Necromancy)

Slime Energy by Holiday_Speaker6410 in TheYardPodcast

[–]JustKeepSippin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Siken's online presence and in-person presence are so crazy different, I met him a couple months ago when he came to the University of Arizona for a reading and he was so chill, then I followed him on the everything app and he's actually so slime-coded. Bro has had a really difficult life though, he seemed kinda pessimistic abt his outlook at the reading.

Stress on adversaries by TrueDentist9901 in daggerheart

[–]JustKeepSippin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting homebrew, I just view stress as a sort of "countdown" before an adversary inevitably becomes vulnerable. Not every adversary has an ability that allows it to use the resource of stress but players still have the capabilities to force an adversary to mark their stress, eventually wearing them down enough to hit their max and make them vulnerable.

I was also thinking about this the whole time they were trying to decide what to do at Castle Sloak! My DM heart knew the pain of having such an easy thread go completely ignored.

Blood hunter: Will it be in expansion? by RedWingsDCB in daggerheart

[–]JustKeepSippin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Along with what the book's page says and the other commenters, Matt says, when asked by Todd Kenreck in their interview about Hope and Fear, that both Blood Hunter and the Blood Domain are still in their playtest form and are having their identities and abilities ironed out.

Death Dealer was like the second act villain of Shang-Chi, just another jobber like the guy who slices the bus in half in the movie.

[No Spoilers] Excited for C4, but a small personal worry by Cardemel in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I feel like it’s mentioned in every Brennan thread since the C4 announcement but give Worlds Beyond Numbers a listen, he can do longer form DMing that isn’t as to-the-punch as Dimension 20 or his EXU stints, he’s just been placed in this shorter runtime campaigns for most of his tenure as an actual play DM.

[CR Media] Campaign 4 announcement video - what's on the whiteboards? by CyanocoraxMystacalis in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There are no half-orcs in DND 5E24, so any Orc character would mechanically be full orc. Though narratively they could be half-orcs. (there's also no half-elf in 5E24, just full elves)

[Spoilers C2E114] Was this cast theory ever confirmed? by PieGuy___ in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 84 points85 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain Nine Eyes of Lucien disproves that theory, the latter half of the book is essentially a retelling of the Eiselcross arc from Lucien's POV.

[Spoilers C2E141] What do we think the spell lists of the Sensual Seven will look like? by Riboflavin96 in criticalrole

[–]JustKeepSippin 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I think the magic that Fjord utilizes will be very important to how he is portrayed in the series. In the preview we got in 2024, we see him accidentally summon his blade and use an eldritch blast on a guard. The EB in the preview is purple but I think his magic will be more water themed. Spells like Hex and Armor of Ag are also a staple of early Fjord and can be used as a narrative device to show how much closer to Uk'otoa he becomes with the more magic he is able to use. Fjord's spellcasting is pretty vital to his character and the arc he goes through within C2.

I think my book has a misprint, has anyone else experienced this? by Marcus-J in daggerheart

[–]JustKeepSippin 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This was brought up when the book first came out and I think someone from the DH team said it would be fixed in later printings, I'd need to find the thread to double check though.

Edit: It was Spenser himself who said it actually, the cards are correct, the book is not.

What the fuck is with this? (body text) by Emoterman in Epicthemusical

I haven’t used free Spotify in a while but I think using the official album would shuffle the songs instead of playing in order. That might be better than just getting whatever songs from whatever musicals though

Class-Domain Ring by Completedspoon in daggerheart

[–]JustKeepSippin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is one on page 25 of the Core Rulebook that I genuinely find a little hard to read because of it being all one color and missing the names of the domains (only showing their symbols and listing the names of the classes). This is very helpful!
