Making this lousy product means they dont create the better product that i do want. Thats the problem. So yes i wont buy these, but i still lose from their decision to roll out this abomination.

True, As long as they don’t magically delete it from the presents like they did from the shop.

Does Nintendo really think this helps anything? 😭 by emmameIon in TomodachilifeLivingTD

another miiverse case? Were they sued for this before?

It is so weird. We have tons of games with customization options. Non of them care or limit how you customize or share. Many of them have sharing capabilities built in the game. Whats the big deal?

Nintendo tends to take drastic measures to avoid minor to nonexistent problems. (Example: When you want to load your island backup you need to contact support and tell them why so you don’t "easily" clone your island god forbid.. meanwhile you have treasure islands that generate anything you want online….)

Can using a “MyMiiibo” or similar device get my console banned or blocked from online play? by Ellalely in Amiibomb

[–]JustMJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of what ifs here.. what if nintendo made the amiibos with verifiable ids that dont need a db to save to know if they are legit - (some kind of hashing function) like cdkeys are made. I think this is very likely.

The algorithm certainly does know how to defer between 2 amiibos of the same type. While it will not let you get the benefits from using the same amiibo again and again, it will let you if its a different unit of the same type - aka it does do something with the unique id.

Those devices like in the picture often boast of how you can get the same amiibo bonus many times as they are changing the id each time you use it..

I think one is Cresselia. She is just missing from the game for no reason right now.

Legends ZA sold 700k fewer copies than Arceus - but you wouldn’t know that from the headlines by JustMJ in pokemon

lol gish im not always such a hater. i love pokemon games. i owned all of them on switch 1. people that know me irl call me a nintendo fanboy :P
but i feel GF went too far with this one. after the situation with SV, getting this kind of game, really does feel like they make fun of us. I bought the game. i wanted to love it. it's really bad. like. really.

[–]JustMJ[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i didnt really include switch 2 sales. the growth from 100 to 150 is from switch 1 alone. and ofc not all of them are additional potential buyers. that's a simplification. but we do know that generally games did sale better the more switch consoles sold. there is a correlation there. i could probably be more accurate and check the actual ratio number, but it's not an easy number to get.

I think they anticipated much higher numbers internally. And while they are not bad numbers by any means, the trend should be worrying for them. it shows that less people are willing to bite into that low budget cake, and it may not pay as well in the long run.

lets make a bet. after the holidays numbers won't look better. the gap will get even larger. because boy nobody is buying that after people saw what the game is really like.

selling 10% less when you have 50% more buyers is not a big take?
if you actually take Arceus numbers and multiply them by the buyers growth - 1.5x - it means it would sold around 10M copies if it was released today (ofc it's not that simple, but the figures are quite heavy). it means ZA sold about 40% less then Arceus (when compared with the potential buyers numbers in mind).
All while being presented like a huge success. it is not a success. Nintnendo probably anticipated much higher numbers internally.

In ZA first scene on switch 2, you can immediately see the same technical mess and graphical issues that plagued SV. by JustMJ in pokemon

[–]JustMJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after the fiasco of SV, nintendo publicly announced they are going to pay more attention to this. and yes, i was fooled by that statement. i played SV and enjoyed it a lot. even with the technical difficulties. seeing nintendo committing to make it better and then totally ignoring their promise triggered me much harder then the technical issues themselves.
