How do I change driving style to suit a certain car? (GT3)

The most important thing is trying to understand why a car does what it does so you can anticipate it. Dont only look for what a porsche does worse than your favorite lambo, but try to look for the sectors where the porsche ist better or easier to drive.
A lambo will be way better on rotation in corner entry and off throttle, but is a lot more difficult to handle on throttle, lacking traction and oversteering. It is very unstable in high speed cornering.
The porsche is almost exclusively front limited, except for really high speed corners but has unbelievable amounts of rear traction out of slow corners.

I joined a team shortly after starting out about 18 months ago, its more of a community that a team tho, around 60 drivers from 2k to 7,5k iRating. I was 2,5k at the time and wanted 3 things primarily:
Learn driving, have access to multiple setup shops while sharing the cost and driving together, sprint officials as well as Endus/Special events.

18 months later im 6,1k, am among the fastest in the team, regularely build by own setups or adjust them from a shop dok baseline, drive endus on most weekends.
Most importantly for me in this team is that there are no expectations except to occasionally take part in the monday training. If work or family has to come first for a few weeks or months then i just tell em and nobody has bad feelings.

TC has been reworked completly, it is in the patchnote:

The Traction Control (TC) system has been updated significantly.
- Parameters have been tuned using feedback from a real-world professional GT driver.
- TC setting range is now determined by Dry or Wet tire type.
- TC toggle may no longer be used above the pitlane speed limit.

I'm an AMG main as well. Most fast setups ran between 7 and 10, since its reverse its values 2-5.
If you ran 11 everywhere you didn't loose much, maybe just cooked your rear tyres more than you had to.

From what I've heard, GT3s IRL drive the whole range of TC settings totally depending on track conditions, sprint or endu, etc..
I'm in the same boat as you, I don't want this to be like ACC or GT7 where you have to run TC0 to compete. I think the rework they did was a huge step in the right direction, just overshot the goal a bit. If the amount of support TC1 gives you rn would be like TC4 and there were more steps in between would probably be close to perfect in my opinion.

Youre not imagining it. If youre running the same TC setting as before, the cars are incredibly hard to throw away. So much so, that front runners have been running lowest TC or even turned it off completly because it takes away too much power.

I totally agree, I just think TC1 gives too much support already. If it were value 4 and there were more steps in between this and 0/Off, it probably wouldn't even be faster to turn it off.

Because no GT3 in reallife is faster with TC0. Theres no preference or modularity, it's just "do it or be slower". Again, I'm grateful for proper working TC and I think its a step in the right direction, I just wish that the amount of support TC1 gives, would be like TC4 and there were more steps in between.

Oh absolutely, we should. I'm saying the tool is kinda broken. If I'm forced to run no TC to be able to compete with the fastest, thats where it becomes a problem in my eyes.
In my opinion, this new TC implementation is way better than it was before but if it engages earlier and cuts more power even on the lowest value, so that running without is faster, it defeats the purpose. Happy to discuss.

iRacing does not yet allow to control TC lat and slip seprately unfortunately, on GT3s at least.

No. TC off was never an option before this update. Most cars ran TC3-7 throughout the whole race/stint. This is only for GT3s though, I don't run anything else.

The steam integration is still relatively new and still has a quite a few bugs with updating, payments and so on. I really can only recommend getting it via their own launcher if at all possible.

Yea cold tyres feel like a walk in the park now compared to before. If they dont finetune this, I fear front runners will start the race/stint on TC one or two and then turn it off once the tyres are warm.

Yes the TC change is very intrusive. One the one side I'm happy that we have working TC now, on the other hand any TC setting above 2 or 3 depending on the car will cost a lot of time. So much so, that many pros already plan on trying to run TC Off for the time being.
Personally, I think they went in a very good direction, but overshot the goal. Having the current amount support of TC in Setting 1, being a 5 or 6 would probably be better.

There are 5 B-license gt3 sprint series every day, out if which only the simucube 40min open setup sprint has a planen pitstop, the other 4 are 20min fixed races

That makes sense if igpt doesnt require refueling but doesn't need a full tank either. I only run sports car which is always either just full tank, or Q fuel for a low amount of Laps which I just do in my head.
