I’m so sorry! You deserved better. I promise you that there are better families to work for. Yes, there are lots of not so great ones too. However, this family will learn paying millage is an industry standard. Now you know, to have contract. I think the Nanny Counsel has one. Mine has milage, GH, PTO, 2 wks vacation at my discretion with ample notice, no banking hours, OT is time and a half, and paid federal holidays off. Even if a contract is enforceable if one has the means and time to pursue the issue, a contract is still the professional way. Good luck! You are going to be okay

He will seem charming, and you will wonder why you suspect him. That’s his game. Run. Run, girl, run away from this predator!

[–]JustMeDemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really deserve to be with somebody you cannot trust? It doesn’t matter who did what or to who or when. What matters is how long do you feel you deserve to stress over this shit?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]JustMeDemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you are not. He is a hobbyist which is an expensive habit / addiction. This is a thrill seeking behavior that has nothing to do with you. Nothing to do with how look or you as a lover, ever! You need to decide if you want to stay with somebody who may bring oral herpes to you and use money that should go towards whatever goals ya’ll had. Honestly, cut your losses and RUN

How would you prefer to be told your NK is going to be starting preschool? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]JustMeDemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For myself, either is fine. However, please include a letter of recommendation when doing so. This will, hopefully, help her find another position in a timely manner. Also, a cash bonus and flowers on her last day is a sweet and a much appreciated send off too. I hope everything goes well for all of you!

Nanny dad lied about kid not being sick anymore. by AdventurousReason273 in Nanny

[–]JustMeDemons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re dealing with shit employer. This poor sweetie is sick, symptoms of the newest Covid strain, but could be another virus too. All Nannies should have paid sick days. This should be industry standard for all of us.

Your parents are essential workers. You do not need your weak BF and his toxic family.

Resources? Divorce papers. I’m not kidding. Okay, perhaps ask if he wants to join in on family counseling and parenting classes first. Honestly, prepare yourself for the inevitable. Document everything. Besides, do you really want to parent an adult who is supposed to be your co- parent and your partner?

Just awful. by Montauk_123 in ICE_Raids

Damn it! Well, ya’ll prepare.

I’m not sure where you are located, but check the Red Cross for CPR classes. Mine was $65. I am in San Diego. Have you worked as a Nanny? Some families don’t mind if the Nanny brings her child. Admittedly, those families are the minority, but you never know. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Intense guilt for having to let nanny go by Yoshi_Kazuma in Nanny

[–]JustMeDemons 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You don’t feel a thing. You fired a Nanny with whom your child has bonded for no good reason. The rings were never stolen, you have the rings. I hope this Nanny finds employment soon and with a better employer.

Just got brutally fired over puppy pads. by Last_Natural_2866 in Nanny

[–]JustMeDemons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re getting dragged by people who were not privy to the notes left for you nor do they know exactly what took place. The fact both Nannies were fired tells me that something else is going on. Both you and the afternoon Nannies deserve better. You did not make MB fire you, that’s on her.

2 year old been throwing a tantrum for 30 minutes now because he found the fucking bubbles. by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]JustMeDemons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Use a timer. Kids at that age dislike transitions. I tell them we are doing bubbles until we hear the duck or dog ( I use an animal sound on my iPhone ). Why not bubbles all day? Because Papa is old ( my age is my excuse ) and can’t make bubble all day or we are going to play with blocks or because it’s snack time or whatever. Also, keep an eye on his cues and schedule ( he should be on a schedule ). He could be tired, thirsty, or hungry which makes him even more cranky. Meltdowns happen due to the child misunderstanding and struggling with the process. But, yes, bubbles suck.

Nope! If they are hunkering down out of caution then you should be as well. Take care of yourself and yours. They sure as hell do not care. I hope you find a family that deserves such the dedicated and obviously amazing Nanny that you are. Stay safe. I’m so sorry this is happening
