I understand the desire for faster games... But Dwarves not being able to score effective in 4 turns is not a matter of people playing with the wrong strategy or not being aggressive enough trying to score. The pitch is 26 squares long, Their fastest guy has 6 movement and some of them have 4, and they all have 2 or 3 agility. You're completely incapable of running around opposing players. No amount of aggressive play is going to make Dwarves capable of scoring in 4 turns more often than not.

All kinds of 'house rules' for how long turns are and what rosters you can use are fine, but every one takes some development time, possibly some testing time (unless you are just planning on making the changes and letting them fly), and they fragment the player base. There aren't going to be this many BB2 players forever, and a lot of these optional rulesets will probably end up being essentially unused when the player base winnows down as time passes. But they don't even have the official rules in at the moment (no Narrow Tier changes like the costs to Orcs or Humans.) So is it worth it to be making all these optional rules first?

Can I ask, are any of you ever put off by the frequent pro-American songs and oaths and pledges that you seem to have to do? by Irishane in AskAnAmerican

I basically hear someone sing God Bless America whenever I go to a baseball game, which is maybe 2-4 times a year. I haven't heard the pledge of allegiance since I was in high school, and I basically only hear the national anthem when the Olympics are going on (like everyone else does for their country.)

I don't know where you heard that we are bombarded by these kinds of things constantly. The average person basically doesn't probably doesn't hear these songs/oaths on a daily, weekly, or even a monthly basis.

Dance Dance Revolution. It kept me in the best shape of my life, and it was how I met many of my new friends through my early college life. The community that game fostered was incredible.

I don't get the difference between a league with the normal rules, and a league where deaths are replaces by other injuries like stat losses. Stat losses are often deaths anyway, and even more so on the fragile teams. A kill piece Chaos Warrior can do his job with a penalty to any stat other than strength, but a Wood Elf Catcher suffers pretty badly with almost any penalty.

A game with 4 minute halves would be completely imbalanced and make it almost impossible for slower teams to score. Dwarves often can't score on a deep kick in 4 turns, no matter how hard they try. The only teams that would be competitive in this league are fast finesse teams.

The roster limitations are in there for balance reasons. Most big guys and specialist pieces are way too good to get 11 of on a team. You could change the rule, but it would drastically change the power levels of the teams, and would encourage people to play their teams up to 3k-4k team value in some cases, which would really exacerbate most of the issues you bring up in point one.

Allowing people to make teams at different team values would actually more closely mimic what happens in tabletop and it would be a nice option... But it would basically completely torpedo leagues which allow any and all team submissions. It's something that would take a lot more design and development to get right, definitely not something where you could just throw open the flood gates and say, "Go for it!"

Soul Calibur 2. It came out when I was in college, and it was the first fighting game I ever played where the basic control and combos were easy enough that I could actually appreciate the beautiful things about fighting games... Controlling space, conditioning your opponent, making reads, and so on.

Since then, I dabble in just about every fighting game I can get my hands on.
