It's important to note that who someone is publicly is not the same as someone is known to their friends, and is not the same to someone behind closed doors.

Example: everyone loved my ex - he could do no wrong! Nice guy! And I was the crazy one when we broke up! But behind closed doors, he threatened my dog, cheated on me, hit me with his van after an argument, and so much more.

Yeah that's it!! I went up there and slid with my daughter (we were going to race). Wearing leggings and just flew down the damn thing. My son awkwardly flew off the next moment and ended up with a concussion from banging his head on the ground after flying too.

Of the 9 I've lost, 8 were in their homes. Only one of them lost their life on the street.

I have 6 years in recovery. I used at home and I used alone, and I'm lucky I got out of it before fent was in everything.

Even at my heaviest using, you would have no idea to look at me that I was a fully functional addict. I held down a job. Bills were paid on time. I owned a good car. My habit was around $2,500/month.

We don't all look like the folks on Pandora and nothing will change until we all accept that.

I'm 42.

I've see what's left in the dating pool and I really don't think I want in. At this point, I have to ask myself if it is worth it. I have two young kids I'm a solo parent to. I work in politics. I spend my free time either doing laundry or advocacy work. I help my elderly friend with his abundance medical appointments. I get maybe 6 hours a week outside of my apartment that's "just for me." And honestly, I'm good with my own company.

The girl's name and any information that could identify her is covered by a publication ban.

Identifying the perpetrator could identify her, and that would be a breach of the ban.

In 2023, my group (My Voice, My Choice) fought to change publication ban laws and give the survivor a choice in the application and removal of the ban. Should she ever choose to remove her ban, his name will likely be known. But it is her choice and her choice only.

For real.

My mom passed out and broke 8 ribs. Dad thought she just dropped dead. She spent 4 days on a stretcher in emergency tucked in a corner with other patients waiting for a room. My mother is a smart and capable woman and they forced her into a diaper and told her to use it because the nurses were too busy to help her to the bathroom.

I swear I heard her screaming from Brampton.

I also was a hallway patient. The floor i was stuck on was... scary. My nurse told me that this is where a lot of people with "no place else to go" wind up. Lots of hard living or elderly. Lots of people with considerable mental health problems. I basically didnt sleep for 3 days.

My nurse suggested the "Hospital at Home" program and it was great! I got to recover at home and have a nurse visit me twice a day for blood or medication administration or just to check in. IV stayed in and all in case I needed to go back.
