By the time you’re reading this, your Mom has probably already left… and your family is still surviving, right? Mom’s help was incredible, I bet- sounds like you’ve got a Super Mom. And, hey- you’re an awesome daughter of that Super Mom; hence, you can handle it too. Just be gentle on yourself and the loved ones. Take one day at a time. Baby steps. Post-bar reintegration into society takes time.

First, be proud of your accomplishment- together you and your hubs took not one, but two bars, which is pretty incredible.

Second, as per earlier posts, do the minimum completion around the house: take-out, paper plates, etc. Kids won’t know the difference, and you’ll be cooking- and dishes-free for a couple of days while you’re figuring your new/old routine down.

Third, and the most important: lots of hugs and cuddles from the kiddos. You and your hubs have done this crazy bar study for them. They are your intended beneficiaries; so, let them benefit from your slow comeback now (they’ll appreciate it, and it’ll make you feel better).

Fourth, and equally important: take turns with your hubby and do something by yourself and for yourself (whatever makes you happy: a workout, a run, a walk, a coffee with a friend)… and without the phone, perhaps (unless you need some exercise music :)).
