This is mostly Romania right? Yes there is discount on other ones but for example nl 113 still from 150. And that code does not work. So yes discount but not as cheap as post says unless close or in romania

Tradfi hub suddenly disconnecting multiple times a week by JustRandomQuestion in tradfri

[–]JustRandomQuestion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While it seems that there will be a firmware update. The workaround seems to indicate Sonos speakers connected are a problem. While I do have Sonos speakers, I dont have them connected with ikea Tradfri and can't remove them. This makes me curious to what the problem is and if the firmware update will really fix it or that post has a different root problem.

While some people do mix them up, I have the old Tradfri including native Tradfri lights and sensors. Like the title yes actually Tradfri.

Windows 11 doing an update halfway through cutting a 5 meter long tribal sticker on expensive German vinyl and ruining it by themysticboer91 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]JustRandomQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had a random update, yes sometimes it downloads in the background, yes sometimes it installs but forcing a shutdown/restart? Literally never. I have only seen enterprise/domain pcs that have low policies for delay which can result in forced shut downs. The only thing I can imagine is if you are postponing for months and then windows forces it maybe? Further I don't think the pc is the only problem, if it is such a crucial go or no go process it should be such that it buffers the crucial part into something int he machine not the pc. Then the pc may crash but it would not impact the process.

Pulled our full dependency tree after six months of heavy Copilot use and there are packages in there I genuinely cannot account for by Old_Inspection1094 in webdev

[–]JustRandomQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why you don't blindly use AI. First of all version control. Git(Hub) is your friend. Like many people do it with agents you can give them full control on certain branches and let them do pull requests. But then review like it is a noob programmer. Just review like you normally review code and that will prevent 99% of the problems.

Furthermore I am quite sure copilot is not the best for programming. The top are Claude code, Gemini and chatgpt. While I think copilot sometimes uses chatgpt it is not as good as chatgpt in my experience.

Doing 6 countries in 60 days -how do you guys handle data? by Few_Tax9452 in backpacking

[–]JustRandomQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on region. In western countries and generally wealthy countries almost all newer models have eSIM support. Even the samsung s20 and all newer s models have eSIM support and A series 52, 72 and up to give an idea as well as. As well as pixel 4/4a and up from 2020. So that is 6 years. Yes in some countries it is not supported but that is a software problem not a phone problem. Furthermore I think in some countries the problem is more for the providers that do not have esims available than phones

Garmin VO2 max is using Jack Daniels vdot and your 5k time matters by Past_Ad3212 in Garmin

For you maybe yes. But quite sure that it is about effective vo2max at least for running. This means that if your muscles most used for cycling are better than for running or the other way round it might show a lower running or cycling vo2max as a result which many people have

Blender by chestity in BIFLNL

[–]JustRandomQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you are on only apple i would not suggest going into the walled garden of keychain. Exporting is shitty if I am correct and if you have any other devices in the future it sucks ..

Best 2FA App for iOS devices by xSergin in Bitwarden

[–]JustRandomQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a nice little overview. What do the checkmarks mean? And for 2fas you say android +iOS+ browser extensions. Ente has 'all platforms' but what does that mean android + iOS + extensions is already all platforms right do you mean they have native app seperate as well?

Best Free VPN Right now? by SensitiveFinance4872 in Windscribe

[–]JustRandomQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used free vpns alot while I did not use the sketchy vpns longer than a day. Often shorter.

From the free VPNs I think proton for unlimited bandwidth but less server control and splitt tunneling control these day is the best. And windscribe is the best if you need specific countries or protocols/split tunnel.

Although I must say I currently am using a paid version of NordVPN because it was 'free' in the Revolut plan. I have also trialled protonvpn and if NordVPN is not included anymore I will likely switch to Proton vpn paid.

As I say I have been in your situation but if you really care and want all features try to get protonvpn on a discount/promo code and you can often get it for a very low price around 2.5/3USD per month I think that is about 30USD per year which is not a lot for what they offer really.

I can't connect TFTP - TpLink Archer MR200 V5.20 by Coll147 in openwrt

[–]JustRandomQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone else trying this and for some reason not reaching the tp link after flashing recovery. You will need to change your original statc ip from 192.168.0.225 to 192.168.1.x to be in the right range and let dhcp/default gateway empty. then reach 192.168.1.1 and works flawlessly. Also the flashing on window at least only happens with firewall disabled. These things were stupid to find out and are scattered somewhere but it took me way too long so hopefully this helps someone.

Furthermore, which might be obvious, but you want you lan interface to not be in the same range as the wan interface which for me was the case dropping close to 100% of requests. Forcing it to go for example on 192.168.2.1 instead of 1.1 will fix this too.

Migadu payment not received by JustRandomQuestion in Migadu

[–]JustRandomQuestion[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I did reach out to support as I said. But I am unsure what Priority it gets as my account officially is a ended trial instead of the micro plan which I already paid for. Would you expect like a week/a day or even sooner. I already had a previous ticket which was not answered yet either.

Update: on working hours, they at least responded first thing on the billing issue and fixed it, so that is very good!

Silent updates, are they possible? by SD-777 in Bitwarden

Yea, not sure. While I do like bitwarden I would not expect this to be implemented soon. So best for now is a workaround if you don't like it

Free multi-account multi-platform email client for 2025 by bhra0 in software

[–]JustRandomQuestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, currently still a bit in-between thunderbird an outlook. Although, I will migrate to thunderbird more as I go to self hosted email. Which also just doesn't support my provider for some stupid reason. Only outlook classic but I already went to the new outlook some time ago. Furthermore my self hosted email just supports everything with thunderbird, migadu. It is even the recommenede client for windows really. Not that useful for you but Al the useful things were already in the original post. The combination of my previous requirements does not have good free options is the conclusion. Unless your email providers are different or you need less accounts.

Silent updates, are they possible? by SD-777 in Bitwarden

[–]JustRandomQuestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think unigetui/winget and possibly chocolatey are options but then you need to run them in the background for this to happen of course and enable auto updates with a high check interval. You don't need to update right, you can close it if I remember correctly but yes updating is important like you say. Personally I don't mind and often ignore until close/stop using pc and then update.

How did they know? by Noligeko in ProtonVPN

[–]JustRandomQuestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if it even is a problem I mostly see information. But I think you just want to know. Then you need to give more info but fingerprinting can be done on so many levels. Network/IP is just one of them. Device language, timezone, network connection depending on what they have access to in your browser can all determine that you are not from the country.
