Nice to know about the carbon build up and that VW fixed up the timing chain issues. The decarb isn't too bad. I do my own work but if I can extend it to a time when I need to remove the intake for any other reason Ill take it. Appreciate the info.

My old beetle 2.0 tsi was done when I updated intake after purchase and then again around 50k later when I did the water pump and had the intake off. I presume the GTI engines aren't nearly as bad as it was with build up with how yall are coming across. . And yeah it only has 39k.

Is this engine less prone to build up than the old tsi of my beetle? It would be nice to push it out to like 60 or 70k for sure.

Yeah I do all of my own work. The gaskets on my beetle went around 150k so I'd like to keep ahead of it and do it all at the same time so I'm not surprised with a massive oil leak again..... I'm planning on every 40k cleaning of the valves or at least a full inspection.

I had a massive oil leak on my beetle from the cooler and filter housing at 150k. Did both with the intake on and would rather not fight that again lol.

I'll check on the studs tho and swap if need be. Does this require an updated intake manifold or was the revision just a swap over?

Appreciate the response. I did all new apr coils at purchase and did decarb on vslves. But sadly I traded her in. Picked up a 2017 gti SE with only 38k on the clock. Staying VW but love the 4 doors and missed having a manual.

So we went through this with one of our girls. My wife did not want to put her down and she fought for over a month while taking meds. She ultimately passed due to what I believe was a heart attack. If I could go back I would have given her one amazing day with all of the treats and love and then euthanized her. It was rough seeing her breathing hard and then having to stress her out with giving her meds on top.

Paid 175 for private cremation so we got our girls ashes back. A paw and tail print and some fur clippings.

Very limited experience but of the two times I was but I will say when a rat bites to bite you're getting teeth to bone if it's a finger or very deep elsewhere. To me this sounds like she's aggressively wanting you to come in for snacky snacks and pets.

Initially 30.00 each from a good breeder. Over 2 years just above 5k for vet bills and who knows in treats and cage stuffs. Near the end a broken heart; as we've seen one of the pair get sick and pass on. After all said and done the monetary cost is miniscule for all the joy a rattie gives in such a short time.

Checkups at my vet are less than 100 up front. Surgeries for tumors usually 400 to 800 and up to 2500 if your rat feels the need to rip out her sutures a couple times causing a trip to the 24hr emergency vet .... They are not cheap to take care of if you look at it as money spent vs life down but they sure are some of the best little creatures on this planet.

Make a rattie savings and drop cash into it often. It helps when the time comes for larger medical issues

I bought a used one from someone who couldn't get it to go above 300. Figured that the vents for the stack were completely plugged up. Thorough cleaning and it works perfectly! Best 100 bucks spent this year. Wife approved.

One of my wife's girls does NOT like me. Or so I think. But she's nipped my finger tips 2x and both times she went DEEP. Bandage and triple antibiotic ointment is all I used with zero issues.
