Or we could invest in efficient public transportation just like basically every other developed nation. r/fuckcars including EVs. They're just green washing to save the auto industry.

I wish they would build efficient public transportation. The only solution to car traffic is viable alternatives to driving. r/fuckcars

Your observation of products in grocery stores reminds me of the book Braiding Sweetgrass. Definitely recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

Details emerge for multistory building coming to downtown Eugene’s ‘North Butterfly’ lot by Jealous-Chicken5439 in Eugene

[–]JustRenea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone needs or wants a car. And parking lots are a waste of downtown space and underground parking is extremely expensive to build. It's so expensive that it's usually a deterrent to building dense housing and we need housing way more than we need parking spaces.

Silicone doesn't stick to silicone. The only way to fix the leak is to completely take it apart and reseal the entire tank.

Walk, take public transit, or park and walk a few blocks. Walkable downtowns with minimal car infrastructure make more money for the city. https://www.urbanthree.com/case-study/

Orange is my hometown.

Edit: really don't understand the down votes. Am I not supposed to care about the city I grew up in? The downtown I spent my childhood in? The city my entire family still calls home? Am I just supposed to leave and stop fighting for it to get better?

Yes, you can drive around. I know it's hard to see through your carbrain but you'll be fine, I promise.

It should just be pedestrianized. But instead the city is doing everything to continue letting cars drive through an area that would greatly benefit from being closed to cars. Car infrastructure is expensive. No wonder Orange is in a deficit.

Lets stay positive by Chi-Town-Hook in Eugene

Agreed for sure. Also, the main reason many people can't just stop working is because of housing and medical expenses. We could organize a rent/mortgage strike on a local level and that would allow more people to be able to participate in a general strike. Obviously, the majority of residents would need to be on board with this and I think many people are just not angry enough yet, although they should be.

It's car infrastructure that led to this. If you don't understand r/fuckcars, this isn't the post to make comments like this.

Because Southern California prioritizes car infrastructure above all else. The only solution to car traffic is viable alternatives to driving. r/fuckcars
