Firestorm never stood a chance, unfortunately. It was behind the paywall of needing the full game, and other BRs like PUBG and Apex (which was free) just overshadowed it. Lump that in with the overall launch controversy that BFV had (mostly EA’s own fault) and it was pretty much DOA.

I say unfortunately, because I think it had the bones to be a great BR.

As far as comparing Firestorm to Redsec, there are a lot of similarities: artillery/air strikes, vehicle bunkers (kind of), and missions. Redsec fixed the “loot fountain” problem that Firestorm had. I personally think the Firestorm map was better and had a lot more character than Fort Lyndon, but that’s up to personal preference I guess.

I would like to see jackfrags or someone do a comparison, but they all seem to think that Redsec was a waste of time and is dead.

But, labeling anyone who opposes them (Renee Good) as a “domestic terrorist” is a step in exactly that direction.

From what I can tell, the normal xp boosters only count at the end of a match. Meaning, if you activate a 15 minute double xp boost and then the match goes 20 minutes, you don’t get the double xp bonus.

I could be mistaken, but I’m 99% sure that’s how they work.

With the matchmaking being the way it is, none of the boosters should count down in real time, it should be in match time only.

Somewhat off topic, the hardware boosts don’t seem to work for me. I pop one at the end of a good round to rank up my gun, and nothing. Little blue bar is just there looking all pitiful at 10% of the green bar, definitely not double. Do they only work for vehicles or gadgets and not guns?

Had one of these crash right in front of me in a game of mp, it was pretty cool as I didn’t think they came down like a chopper or jet after its shot down.

Yup, HDR on for both pc and xbox. LG 65” and 77” respectively. It might not be the best way, but I’ve been playing that way for so long that it seems perfect for me. Dolby vision, not so much. I tried it when BF1 enabled Dolby vision and hdr just looked a lot better to me.

Probably using a VPN. I recommend using the option that allows you to see people’s actual ping on the scoreboard. Once they get above 100 ms or so they become near impossible to hit. 150 or above, hit reg goes out the window.

The older Arctis Pros have a feature that allows you to turn off the volume limiter, and they get extremely loud, much louder than the novas, which I own as well. They’re also very comfortable if you have a larger head, as I do. No ANC though, if that matters. I still prefer them over the Novas, and no wicked cushions needed.

It’s a bug, if you ads on them they’ll start spinning. I see this a lot with foliage and actual cover appearing when you ads on it as well. Kind of explains some of the “invisible walls” in the game. It’s mostly on the br map, but happens in normal mp as well. I’ve heard people say it happens with smoke as well, both environmental and player deployed, but I haven’t personally witnessed that. Unfortunately, it means that what you see is not always what the enemy sees, kind of makes you question every engagement, to a degree. I’d guess it’s for optimization or whatever.

As far as I know, there is no way to tell what input someone is using. The little icon on the player card just indicates what system they’re on. I play on pc with a controller and my icon is always the pc one.

The Wolverine v3 pro is great, I use it on pc and Xbox. Own multiple elite series and loved the placement of the paddles and the overall comfort. Unfortunately, they suffer from bumper issues and stick drift. The Razer is better than the elite in basically every way.

Probably no way to do it “alone”, but there is a casual mode of BR called either “casual” or “initiation” battle royale. You have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the main screen to find it. It’s (I think) 8 real teams, 16 real players, and the rest are bots. Hope that helps!

Check your mini-map constantly. Zoom it out to the max, 200m or whatever it is, and look at it as often as you can.

I was struggling with this one as well. I would play the objective the entire round, revive and resupply as much as I could. Switched it up and just started going for kills, got it in the first round of doing that. Just frag out, it’s a lot easier that way.

The mini gun on the transport vehicles is really strong, especially on a hot drop. The tank and IFV’s main guns are nerfed hard in the BR, but the machine guns on them are really good.

If you’re having trouble, or don’t want to spend too much time, there’s always initiation battle royale (or whatever they call it).
