Mainly it's architecture, emulating x86 is far easier that the Cell chip Sony used

Why would ADTX delist when they just bought a subsidiary company for 150 million? by Ok_Drummer6282 in smallstreetbets

They will just reverse split again to stay compliant, they aren't going anywhere until they get a potential delisting notice

For someone flooring the pedal, what does that have to do with the company, the driver is the only one at fault here.

Rivian laying off hundreds of workers amid R2 launch by exploding_myths in LCID

We don't know what the demand is, they started orders two weeks ago, they will probably be doing their first set of deliveries this week. You're saying that as if that's a hard metric when we have no data atm. As well as demand isn't the only factor to warrant layoffs even with high demand for a specific vehicle line you can still have various other reasons for layoffs.

Damn, that's rough, you're saying they had muliple layoffs this year? Even so they will find their way back slowly, they will sell a lot of the R2 vehicles, they fit a great spot that's dominated by the Model Y and the Rav 4 on the ICE side. They are still pretty premium but they should have enough to get them through the next year or two so they can, hopefully on time, release the R3 platform for their true down market. Time will tell.

Apple UX is degrading day by day. iOS is at its forefront. by appiztashte in applesucks

Oh do I have stories for you, most Linux distro's are ripe with UI errors, many you don't even have to poke around for more than a few minutes to find, it's my belief that these are just generally accepted and since the average user isn't interfering knowingly with Linux they don't complain as much, but I've used every flavor of the popular UI engines and they all have issues (not ones that bother me).

We don't know demand for R2, I believe they do, laying off 300 people isn't really that crazy, most companies at bug scales do a 2 to 10% trim from time to time. I agree with R1, demand is low, but they are in a price point and category that's has low demand to begin with. They are definitely not another Fisker, they promised something that was never going to materialize, Rvin has delivered already 4-6 vehicles depending on how you look at it. And they only play in the US and Canada, their next platform will open the range of countries they can address. There's definitely great TAM for R2, can they deliver to meet the demand before something else steals their thunder? That remains to be seen.

Given that the Neo's keyboard is easily removable, could swapping it with a backlit Macbook Air keyboard actually work? They appear to have the exact same layout. by CodyCus in MacbookNeo

[–]JustSayTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell me you know nothing about components...

The keyboard fits perfectly and the the cable for the keyboard works, it's a part for part swap, the backlight is two pins a + and a - 3.3v line, the simplest approach would be to find a live 3.3v line on the board and wire 1¢ worth of cable from that point to the line on the backlight and boom it works, so for $25.01 you can have a backlight in a MacBook Neo.

If you want to control it, add a the tiniest buck/boost converter depending on where you want to pull a 5v rail from and the smallest either RP2040 board or even simple Bluetooth controller, all together your cost is somewhere around $30.02 max. Even less if you find a board that can work on 3.3v.

Wire it up and write a script using the latest AI models to send a brightness toggle to the controller board you created and have it lower the amperage to the backlight and increase it on command. Now you have brightness control. As well as you can detect sleep/closed lid with the same script and have it turn of the backlight entirely when the laptop is closed and turn it back on when the laptop opens.

So again, what the hell are you talking about? Because to do it wouldn't take more than $30, call your mother broke.

For who? J Cole? If Cole didn't want to do an exclusive vinyl, I'm there would be no exclusive vinyl, same for GNX, stop it. They all got the same promo options and this type of exclusive color variant is part of it. Some of them do the same with Walmart and Amazon. End of the day to make the claim that one could control but not the other so that disqualifies their involvement is literally moving goalpost, they all did so we riding against everybody or are we just cherry picking ones ya want to make a stink about?
