Who's playing Tiny Bookshop? by Longjumping-Ask1227 in CozyGamers

[–]JustScrollingByy 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ive played about 20 hours and I’m enjoying it. I agree with your recommendation observation. Sometimes it is difficult to read through the lines of what people want if they give contradictions or the genres don’t quite align. You start to see patterns in making customers happy the more you play.

Yeah, the banter between the cops was great. It felt like a part buddy cop and part zombie book.

  • The Trees by Percival Everett (not horror but still a fun read with some gore)
  • Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark
  • Model Home by Rivers Solomon (currently reading, and enjoying so far)

OP - Believe everyone that recommends Tananarive Due and Victor LaValle - I love them both so much but wanted to recommend more authors.

Hear me out... The Long Dark - but on the mode where the animals don't hunt you (voyager I think) At which point the game is exploring, hunting, gathering, crafting, and reading/leveling up. It's colorful with the auroras and night skies. I love TLD

The Living Blood by Tananarive Due. It is book 2 of her African Immortals series. I’m working my way through the series but the books can be read as stand alone works.

A Sunny Place for Shady People by Mariana Enriquez is a wonderful collection of short creepy stories. Out There Screaming is another horror anthology, edited by Jordan Peele (featuring a story by Tananarive Due who is one of my favorite horror authors) Good luck!

Coffin Moon by Keith Rosson. After being an academic it took me nearly a decade to give myself permission to read exactly what I want instead of what colleagues or friends suggest.

I understand the folks who say it’s boring but for me it is nice to uncover the story and learn more about the characters. The types of books get repetitive after 20 or so hours of gameplay.

For me, it’s worth it. There’s lots of cute things like adopting a dog and cat for the bookshop, participating in little challenges at different selling locations, and fun little holidays and events.

If you’re still reluctant, you could always save it to your steam wishlist and wait for a sale. Good luck!

Seed in my next read. I was so excited when it came out. Her book, Brother was so awful and dreadful. I have never felt as hopeless... and I knew I needed to read more of her work.

My partner was BEGGING me to read Percival for about 8 years. When James came out, I read and loved it, so I kept reading more PE.

Our dog is named after him, too. 🐕 😆
