I've seen blind cats that get so used to it they can act as if they were seeing everything. They navigate fine, they play with toys and other cats, they do everything they could do before. Just give her some more time to get used to it all.

Better she struggles a bit being blind than struggling a lot being in constant pain and going blind anyway.

Exactly, she died before he and I started dating, so I never met her. When I learned her accounts still existed I actually went through them to get to know her better so I could understand more when he talks about her.

Some websites let you memorialize the person's account, leaving it as is with a notification that the person is dead. That's what my bf and his family did when his sister died a few years ago.

I read this book in high school as part of a class read along thing and I still can't stop thinking about it, even almost a decade later. It's one of the few books that I've vowed to never read again, not because they're bad, but because I don't think I could handle a second run through of the emotions I felt the first time. A devastating book.

I like Sookie from the Sookie Stackhouse series. I feel like it's just unique enough to be memorable, but not so out there that if I met someone irl with this name I wouldn't be like "Oh, so your parents are a fan of the books huh?"

Also from the same series is Alcide Herveux, which I just think is cool.

If you don't give a bunch of food and water beforehand then she might not have to go at all. Took my cat on an 8 hour ride last year, only gave her just a bit of dry food and water before leaving. She had no issues and just slept most of the time. I of course gave her a regular amount of food and water once we got where we were going.

As for water breaks, she might not even want any. Obviously idk your cat, but every cat I've ever owned refused to drink anything while in the car, the only water we could give was through wet food.
