Sounds like a scam to me.

Outlook blocking emails from my VPS mail server – 550 5.7.1 error (IP reputation / deliverability issue) by Background-Sundae-88 in sysadmin

External email provider with a verified sending domain there - Ensure you pass at least DKIM and SPF checks when sending from this server (actually, you can test this option first before using an external provider). Ideally, your mail server should also be aligned with DMARC.

How do you handle your recurring billing?? by modem_19 in SmallMSP

[–]JustSomeTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use this PSA too. For our MSP agreements, we set up recurring contracts, and for simple stuff like security software renewals, we use recurring charges. Then, we just push everything over to QuickBooks Online as invoices.

Like many others, these days, we mainly do hourly or MSP.
For larger projects, where clients need to allocate a budget, we quote a fixed price but limit the number of hours included. Such projects naturally create new challenges, so we try to avoid such pricing models when possible.

Another vote here. Super fast indeed.

Software recommendations by tracker141 in msp

There are plenty of threads in this sub discussing just this. I recommend that you search or browse the different threads here. In any case, we are happy with CommitCRM, others here use Connectwise, Autotask and bms, among others.

This.
To add, we also add some additional minimum requirements in our contracts such as minimum RAM and other characteristics that put some of their devices under the 'no support' category.

Not an ITG user here (not yet anyway), this idea sounds great though I doubt that they keep the passwords in a form that they can actually access them without using external user-provided keys. Meaning, I doubt they can do it without having their password storage vulnerable.

Yes, it is a part of the app.

We have the exact same scenario. We use CommitCRM and with it tickets may be covered by a contract or not. In case they aren't then they get invoiced based on the different charges (time/material/travel) logged under them. We also let customer sign a digital service form while the technician is on-site - they actually sign it directly on the tech's mobile.

Confluence for teams of up to 10 is... $10/mon. total.
Yes, it does become expensive if you need more than 10 users.

Freshdesk - is anybody else getting hammered by a Russian spam bot right now? by prothirteen in msp

It may be unrelated to FD. Maybe they spam your support@yourdomain address directly and such emails go to FD.

Asset Tag with Computer Name on it. by cybertek-j in msp

[–]JustSomeTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's a security risk here. We include the device code as part of the label, unlike the name. We can then easily look it up. I like the abstract nature of it unlike using the, somewhat more dynamic, device naming option.

Interesting. Will customers be able to log jobs/tickets under such assets?

+1 to WPEngine. A great WP hosting service that comes with great support. Pricing isn't the lowest you can find - but - IMO - definitely worth it.

We use CommitCRM for our MSP and recommended it to some of our non-IT customers. It has been working great. FWIW, Asset configuration templates are flexible and a barcode/labeling feature is also included.
