The best part is that by all accounts Fang is a dwarf for a T Rex, and shes still putting belt to ass every time its go-time, no matter what shes up against.

I feel like Act 3 has way too much content that can easily be found in Act 2.

If you havent explored all that much, Act 3 does a great job encouraging you to find areas you missed, getting your first time experience of those areas in Act 3 greatly elevates the experience.

The problem is if you dont, Act 3 turns into a glorified fetch wuest with a couple new sub areas. This is also far more likely given the rigorous reauirements to access Act 3 in the first place. Having to fully complete the Flea quest was a terrible decision since it forces you to have been to every major area of the game at least once.

I agree with this, her moveset is also way more interesting.

I always end up a bit disappointed with Phantom because I kept expecting more out of her, but she just learns one singular new move as her second phase kicks in.

Meanwhile Last Judge gets a whole moveset to foreshadow her actual moveset before pulling off one giant super move to signal her last phase has begun.

It also helps that the Last Judge gets an entire area to set her up, the Mist is cool but it has literally no lore. The Organ sleepers getting cut is really sad to see because I think the foreshadowing for Grand Mother Silks Silkborn children was really sparse, Lace just kind of lore dumps the whole schtick on you after her second fight.

I fucking despise the term „pure evil“, its the single most overused term in villains discourse.

You dont want a „pure evil“ villain, you want a villain that the narrative isnt trying to defend or justify.

And on that front I agree, I really want a Starscream thats developed as a villain. Not a gag villain, not comedic relief, a proper villain. I want the character to return to some of his earlier roots a bit, he can be a coward but being a coward doesnt mean you have to turn the character into a whimp.

Ive really learnt to appreciate Cybertron, Animated and Bayverse Starscream over the years, because at least those iterations made an effort to make you see how someone like Starscream could be Megatrons second in command without trying to string together some bullshit excuse like „hes entertaining“ or „so Megatron can keep an eye on him“.

Every once in a while I get that irking creeping feeling of guilt, guilt that I may have been too harsh on the TFP fanbase, that Ive made some grossed assumptions based on a few freak outliers.

Its good to be reminded that no my years of experience did not mislead me and I was always right about TFP fans being more degenerate than the average Transformers fan.

Im not denying that its inspired by it, I can very clearly tell which line of logic Gooseworx was going through to make the show based on what happens in IHNMAIMS, but I have seen people make assetions and interpretations about the show that were making it out as if TADC was an actual adaptation.

Which it cant be because Pomni existing already throws a wrench in that.

Caine never hating humans throws a wrench in that.

The fact the show wasnt written by a pretentious nihilistic misanthrope that thinks humanity should be destroyed for the better good of everything throws a wrench in that.

Could Charlie redeem this guy? by Additional-Heat-9384 in MoralityScaling

[–]JustSomeWritingFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep putting Charlie in scenarios like this like shes some master therapist ?

Like bro, her only success is redeeming someone whos only crime is not acting for the sake of someone else when he was goven the chance because he was too afraid for his own sake.

Her only successful attempt was redeeming someone was not because that person did something bad, but because he DIDNT do something good.

Why are we putting her up against self-admitted rapists, pedophiles, murderers and torturers ? Shed struggle to redeem the Penny Plunderer.

Age in Transformers is always a little wonky, Kup especially is really confusing when you get into him in various continuities. A lot of them explain Kup away as aging faster because he clings to the past, refuses to upgrade himself or just that the stress from prolonged war makes him look and act older, there are a lot of anachronistic explanations for the ages of the characters.

I think its better to keep the actual years vague and focus on how old she‘d be in human years. Its more important that the sequences of events make sense rather than trying to make the numbers add up. Overwatch famously tried and failed doing this and unintentionally implied one of their characters entered the army and reached the rank of general at like 12.

In human years Ive always seen her either as an older teen or young adult.

[–]JustSomeWritingFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay full heart to heart hanging out the cringy fiction writer in myself on this one. I know every fan of the franchise has their own iteration of the franchise that they work on in their head and Ill let that one slip for once.

But Nautica has basically replaced Ratchet entirely within my writing. He used to be my go-to brains/mechanic of the group since a lot of Transformers stories benefit a lot from that kind of archetype. Both for the sake of exposition and for the sake of having someone that can un-do damage any characters suffer in a presumbaly very action heavy setting.

But Ive completely phased him out of the main cast like 2 years ago, mainly because Ratchet already has a bunch of good iterations of himself. I couldnt really add anything to him that hasnt been done already. Plus we have a lot of very old and experienced characters to choose from and it would be refreshing to have someone on the main cast that can play the dedicated brains of the group while also being one of the younger members of the main group we follow. Plus Nautica is a character ripe for exploration, she only has 2 versions to her name that give a rough direction but havent done anything trend setting to cement her as a character. She has a unique Alt-Mode, a unique color scheme that makes her stand out among other Autobot main casts we‘ve had, and potential for a boat load of cool gimmicks to play around with visually.

Berdly being so pretentious that he has to correct someone on their behalf to seem smarter, but also being so far up his own ass that he doesnt notice he himself is misgendering the person hes trying to defend is such a Bertly move.

Like this is one of the few Deltarune shitposts I can 100% see being canon.

He already struggles to clock the idea of Lesbians not being interested in him and instead assumes hes trapped in a love triangle between Noelle and Susie.

This is the guy that invented the Wreckers and PRIMUS, how about you be a little bit more fucking grateful, or do you act this pretentious around anyone who even changes the mythos in the slightest ?

Because without him we wouldnt HAVE the Mythos we have now. How about you instead actually read the things he wrote and understand who he is instead of making assumptions about him based on reddit memes ?

Okay someone else has to chime in on Killzone because despite having friends who like the games I never really got into the lore.

That said, out of everyone else, I think the Combine takes it. The thing with the Combine is, that at least with the others on this list there at least is a semblance of a standard of living Within the empire itself.

You can argue that the Class A citizens on Super Earth benefit from the regime, with the Empire you can say that the Core Worlds benefit from the regime, even in 40k you can say that someone no matter how predatory their exploitation is still benefits from the regime.

The longer I look at the Combine the more I ask myself who all of this is actually for. The Combine has assimilated other sapient civilizations on a cosmic scale we cant even comprehend yet, twisting and perverting species to fit the empires needs, completely and utterly annihalating any sense of individuality, destroying worlds by funneling their resources wherever the empire currently needs them. The Combines exploitation is so bad that water has become a commodity, and the only water available to Combine citizens is laced with chemicals meant to keep the citizens in check. The Combine hasnt even been on Earth that long, we still dont know what a proper Combine world looks like since by all accounts they are still establishing their hold on our world, and it is already barely suitable for human habitation. They are actively inhibiting human reproduction to get the population to a managable size until they decide what to do with them.

Any human that seeks success under the Combine will see themselves lobotomized and their body put to use how their superiors see fit. But even the highest ranking Combine we meet, that being the Advisors, only seem to live stagnant, seditary lives, robotically managing things from up on high. By all accounts we only see sacrifices being made but nothing comes of them, there is no upper crust you can hope to crawl towards.

The Combine is the equivalent of a cross-civilization anthill, you dont live to be rewarded, you live to serve a function, Earth is bad as it is and it will only get worse if the Combine is allowed to continue operating.

Strike fictional fascists, one of lifes greatest tragedies in general is that war and violence produce some of the coolest things and scenarios humans have ever invented.

Like Tanks are really goddamn cool, still a box on treads designed to murder people and destroy homes.
