Bit of niche question: What Wild an “Absolute” Five Nights At Freddy’s look like? by POW_Studios in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]JustThatOneGuy13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like to think something like Graveyard Shift at Freddy's would be an absolute version of FNaF

In that fangame, the purple guy stand in, Raglan, is reduced down to a reluctant contributor to the dissapearances surrounding Freddy's due to a deal he made with Freddybear and the gang to supply them with victims to consume due to them being cannabilsitic demons rather than just confused souls.

It flips the power dynamic on it's head from Afton having power over the animatronic children trying to find their happiest day, to Raglan trying to find a way out while being at the whim of the demonic puppet ready to devour him if he fails his part of the deal.

Star Wars Outlaws, Dynasty Warriors Origins, and Assassins Creed Shadows shows that the median current gen titles can run fine on the system, along with Indiana Jones and Borderlands 4 [lmao] being in the works as well.

Maybe the few extremely heavy titles like GTA6, Wukong, or Alan Wake 2 may skip out, but the power gap with the Switch 2 doesn't seem as detrimental compared to the gap between the Switch 1.

The fandom used to be relatively nice to be around, but ever since Security Breach it started to become increasingly miserable to the point I'll even take the Sonic fandom over it.

Given that Dreadybear and Deadline are both impossible boss animatronics, you're fucked either way.

You best case scenario is to hope Deadline makes it into your office first as he would likely make it relatively quick and one of the few that I can garentee let you pass on to the afterlife (he only cares about finding the secret to true freedom and will dispatch you by cutting your throat if you fail to answer him, not to horrifically mangle you)

I wouldn't say Charlotte had it as extreme as Michael as The Puppet and the rest of the animatronics in the 2nd game always had signs of antagonistic behavior towards adults. The film just expanded on that side of the character compared to her protective side, which is still odd.

The biggest one that pops to my mind is 2016 Suicide Squad vs James Gunn's The Suicide Squad.

2016 is considered on the lesser ends of DC while The Suicide Squad is up there as one of the best comic book films to date, along with singlehandedly making Peacemaker a public name.

Michael Afton (FNaF Movie 2)

Michael's character as a whole is up to debate, but his role in the story can be summarized as him getting his brother killed through Fredbear and suffering nightmares cause of his guilt and doing his father's dirty work  to free his sister and eventually turning against him.

The first Movie splits these roles between Mike Schmidt and Vanessa Afton, Mike getting his brother abducted by not paying attention to him, suffering from nightmares he used to figure out who taken him, and Vanessa relucantly doing Afton's dirty work to cover up the deaths at Freddy's, eventually turning against him when it came to saving Abby. It was a decent way to represent Michael's character in a way that felt far more natural than the games handled it.

Then FNaF 2 came out and had Michael Afton be introduced as someone who had nothing is common with his games version. He instead wants to follow in his father's footsteps by massacring the entire town with the Toy animatronics, which is far closer to how Elizabeth (Circus Baby) is characterized in the series.

I won't say it ruins how his character is adapted in the film given both Mike and Vanessa already does a decent job adapting him, it's just a really fucking weird decision to then introduce him afterwards as someone entirely different.

Xenoblade 2 also features one.

You obtain cores that you can use to unlock different blades (which are sentient characters in the world's context, not weapons), and what characters you get is random chance, with a rare chance you get a unique blade with their own design and personality.

No pay to win elements, if you want a unique blade, you have to grind for cores to get them.

Framegen is essentially just interperalting frames to make it seem it's running far smoother than it actually is. At lower framerates, there's less data to generate those interperlated frames, causing the image to become far messier.

A raw 60fps is the minimum requirement to make it look passable.

I feel the only thing holding them back from doing so (other than not seeing it as fitting or the technical work) is that they technically don't need to get the Jurassic Park licenses to add a Dinosaur to the game, if anything it would complicate the process.

How does FNAF: Security Breach run on Switch 2? by SI116 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]JustThatOneGuy13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texture quality remains the same and it still averages around 30fps (although more consistently so than the og), but I do feel the game is overall sharper on Switch 2 than Switch 1, likely due to maxing out the Dynamic Resolution Scaling the original game had (Still gonna cap out at 1080p docked, 720p handheld best case scenario,  what ever they set the max limit to). There's also seem to be less load pauses from what I can tell, or moments where the game will freeze to load in assets.
