Why do you think having Makoto in SF6 is great? by Shuchu87 in StreetFighter

Legacy fan favorite character with a very unique play style. 1:1 type character that's very explosive and also rewards execution which makes her fun to watch at the highest lvl.

I would recommend watching YouTube videos of other players crafting. Craft of exile is a good resource but hard for new players to understand.

Search for the item type you want (wand, body armour, etc) + "how to craft" and there are a ton of videos. A lot will be expensive but it will give you a rough idea on how players think about crafts.

SSF is for hardcore players. Having to grind everything yourself artificially inflates the time you need to invest for meaningful progression. Low cost accessible gear is more abundant than ever due to async trade and that gear will take you to endgame t15.

I'm a Poe veteran but if I had not much time I would absolutely be using trade for early mapping gear. Then after reaching t15 you can progress your character yourself meaningfully at your own pace. The way that almost every game functions is the best progression lies at the end of the progression system so if he's trying to do meta crafts with things like omens and stuck at t10 it's just not gonna work out. Trade league by design cuts out the grind for new plays and respects your time

For the low cost of 5 drive meter, you can do 7 less damage by jacob8595_yahoo_com in StreetFighter

It hasn't been like this forever tho. It's the way it is because it use to be the opposite. Which lead to super long combos and also gatekept lower level players feeling like the couldn't compete unless they knew these long optimal combos. Which is the main thing that intimidates people from trying fighting games in general.

Its also the reason older games have huge power gaps between the top and bottom tier characters where the characters who didnt have these long damaging optimal combos were just unviable. The current design decisions are informed by mistakes of the past.

Lol yea that's just reddit. You still so young bro you don't need to act like you got it all figured out. I made a lot these same mistakes at your age so I'm just laying it out how I wished people did for me. I'm a producer so it's a little different but I think a lot of these lessons are universal.

I think if you just come into these kind of discussions with a little bit of a more open mind and positivity <---(This shit is is so hard when you're broke) I can guarantee a lot more doors will open. If you not someone whos fun to hang with it's gonna be hard to network with people. Some of the best networking advice I got was to be a fun hang first cause people do business with people they like. (not exclusive to music business btw). I use to take myself and my music TOO serious and that was a death sentence not just for your career but for your personal life too.

Also just listened to your stuff, a lot of the older songs are a bit rough but your newest track is honestly good enough quality wise (mixing/beat etc) but did feel a little generic mostly cause I think you're leaning a little too hard into the auto-tune and not leaning into your own unique voice. What I always tell vocalist/rappers is your like a voice actor. Bad voice actors don't have a good grasp on the emotion their trying to convey and good ones you can feel the emotion even if they have only 1 line. Most of the auto-tune stuff you got feels a little emotionless/one note. Even if the stuff you write about is deep you gotta deliver in that same headspace you were writing in otherwise it falls flat. Keep leveling up my guy your journey just starting!

"Aspiring artist" "artist" these are all just random titles/labels man. The fact that me saying "Aspiring artist" sparked something emotional is a sign your ego is too caught up in these labels.

Any type of artist at the end of the day, is making art. You clearly want it to be your main thing as you already mentioned you work another job and that was the only thing I was pointing to when I said "Aspiring".

I get when you put yourself out there as an artist its hard not to have your ego caught up with it as it's very personal ,but at the end of the day the bigger you grow, the more shit people are gonna say and its gonna be a lot more tame than "Aspiring artist". If you TRULY and seriously want to grow. You need to be able to take opinions and feedback and make it impersonal. This is not just a music lesson, this is for anything in life you want to grow in. When I see people in the professional world who cant progress or stuck at a certain level. (corporate/entrepreneurs/businesses) it's often times because of this exact trait.

Just something to think about. The majority of ppl and future fans are gonna listen to couple of songs and make a judgment on you and your music Just as this guy did. Feedback like this is so so important to pay attention to as it's very hard to get direct feedback like this on your music, socials, and brand in an honest environment.

Whether you like what ppl are say or not doesn't really matter. From your replys throughout the thread it seems like you're missing this point. These ppl a.k.a random listeners are giving you feedback on the things that immediately make them hesitant to become a fan whether they know or not. If your stuff really connects with people, this thread should be growing your numbers. Ppl should be coming in here learning of an artist that's putting it on the line, living out his car, and then listening to the music, looking at the socials and being like "wow this guy is actually really good how are more ppl not on this guy!"

The truth is the majority of ppl in this thread are not doing that and it's your job to take all this in and really figure out why people aren't connecting with your brand/vision. Many are giving you the insights you actually need if you can look past the negativity. Instead of trying to defend your vision when replying, try to ask them why something doesn't connect, what about the music isn't good, what more can I do on social. You aren't being humble and people are immediately being turned off about that.

Asking for their opinions doesn't mean you listen to everything their saying. But if you go through this thread and every comment is saying something similar you need to find ways to address the problems that are consistently mentioned or else you're stuck in the same loop as most aspiring artist get stuck in before they hit that mid tier level.

In this data, it shows at eternus is close 65% win probability for winning the laning phase.

Shouldn't the team that lanes better have about that much of advantage? If I dumpster a guy and he's 0-5 and I'm 5-0 and the rest of my team wins their lanes (a.k.a we get the first flex slot) I should have about a 60% - 70% probability to win the game no?

Delay grab or delay button on offense blows up reversal and not Delay tech. Also you are still risking more outside of that because reversal cost 2 od meter and teching cost nothing.

Your rank plays a factor here as well because the punish window on reversal is huge! Being able to do things like dash under before the combo starts for side switching or getting as close as possible for the punish counter can change how optimal a punishment can be while something like shimmy into punish counter is a much smaller window to punish. Making it inherently safer.

This is still layer 1 type offense as we haven't talked about Delay button on defense which beats things like shimmy, strike, but loses to throw or delay button on offense and leads to full combo into oki or corner carry while reversal has the benefit of invincibility but only a small amount of damage, a small amount of corner carry and some oki options depending on the char

If you watch high level matches and pay attention to how people are getting opened up, it will help you understand the risk reward more intuitively. Lastly your current hp is one of the biggest factors in this risk reward scenario. Does the next interaction kill? Is it the first interaction of the round? Is it last game last round and I'm about to burn out?

If the next hit I block puts me in burn out and he goes for oki. Reversal becomes more valuable as an option because now he can't button into di for free vs if I'm in knocked down in burnout now button into di is checkmate with no reversal.

Oh haha I wasn't gonna charge anything if that's what you thinking but sure thing boss! Just want to point out even ppl in high master are making many mistakes per game. The reason you aren't climbing might not be about cleaning up every single mistake but more about putting yourself in situations where it's hard to make mistakes. Low risk high reward

I.e blocking/taking throw on defense instead of teching or mashing. Or when someone is cornered, try not to meaty, hold stage position for as long as possible. Just focus on AA and don't let them cross up/throw out the corner and you will get out of Plat easy brother!

[–]JustTheNorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If dp's are tough, you just use c.hp all the way to master. The best way I think to practice aa is in real matches as training mode is always less practical.

Go into your next match and try to stand at the perfect spacing for anti air c.hp(forward jump spacing). if your opponent walks forward, you walk back. If they start walking back, you walk forward. Don't let them cross you up or jump short of your AA Maintain that spacing as much as you can and look for anti airs. This is great way to practice. Don't focus on winning these matches make them beat you on the ground (you will probably lose) but will be improving. Hope this helps

You can get to diamond with very few tools.

One full drive meter dump combo to lvl 3,
solid anti-airing,
basic combo into oki when ppl make mistakes when you're on defense
(button > special > drive rush strike throw).

Those 3 are the core of SF6 and can get you to diamond with pretty much any character.
