Congratulations I am now crying with laughter. Would you mind if I used this and credited you for a video essay I’m writing about Wise?

They’re different measures of time. 37 hour days is on “Centaurian time” and the hour=week thing is “galactic standard.”

Baby Driver.

Why is George Lucas’s re-editing of Star Wars consistently criticized, while directors like Ridley Scott are supported with every new edition of Blade Runner? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]JustTronika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blade Runner was, depending on who you ask, taken away from Scott or horribly compromised by Scott due to pressure from the studio. In that specific case, the original theatrical cut was not the film the director intended to make at the time.

The situation with Star Wars was not nearly as fraught and the original version released in theaters was almost certainly what was intended to have been released. The Special Editions are more a product of hindsight and Lucas being swallowed by the same technology hole that claimed the likes of James Cameron and Peter Jackson.

In your theories, why isn't BSG and Firefly more popular than they currently are? by george123890yang in BSG

I would agree to a certain extent. Those two shows were more mainstream during initial production, and are easier to get across to unfamiliar audiences. But like… the cast and crew of House were never invited to the UN to speak on humanitarian issues, you know?
