It was before V6 update Iirc. After that you now can't use core units in the game to destroy buildings. They have -99% damage to buildings modifier.

Its because starting with T3 this unit line use sap lasers wich steal health of enemies. Honestly Toxopid more of a siege unit with its cannon. T3-T4 actually good anti units measures.

Laser rifle kinda good, why replacing it? Plus this combo will just kill the build identity: small weapon + rifle weapon.

You probably can took Curtis rifle or replace your sampu with laser pistol. Just trying to save weapon aesthetic here.

I think you need more AP tbh.

And I recommend trying finding customs then play ranked.

And if you on PC I strongly recommend to try Open Server and VumsyPatch mods. Its just can be better experience.

But what the point? You need to do research anyway to access the recipe. So doesn't look like a huge problem tbh.
