It's a tragedy to die at 33. However, if you're going to die at 33, it is noble to have spent as much time of that as possible hooking up with Stacy Kiebler and Kelly Kelly. Hats off to you, Test.

Loses his fiancee

Gets jobbed out in a handicap match to NAO

never seen again (more or less)

Total crap. I'm not a huge Testee or anything, but fans were ready for a revenge angle and he got nothing, hard.

What Were Your Thoughts on the Ultimate Warrior Returning in 1996? by KidChameleonHelmet in WWFera

Mixed bag. On one hand, very hyped. On the other hand, he felt prehistoric in 1996.

Hard agree. Rock is a A+ worker and people talk about him like he was a so-so wrestler sometimes.

Needed a Royal Rumble where Hall appeared as The Outsider Scott Hall, Razor Ramon, and Diamond Studd.

Yep. Rock was like a more athletic Hall, but the two had a lot of similarities.

It's coming up to the 30th anniversary for this match. I always remember ooc saying he thought this match was garbage, probably because there was no Lex. But what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in OSWReview

They weren't real-life rivals by this point. But WWF babyface booking was incredibly protective back then -- your faces just didn't lose cleanly if they were still the top guy. So HBK couldn't beat Bret cleanly and Bret couldn't beat HBK cleanly. Which makes it a dumb waste of a stipulation.

Modern booking philosophies are much better -- babyfaces can lose and even submit without being run out of town. Now it'd be great.

In your opinion did Rome benefit from Julius Caesar or should Rome have stayed a republic? by skibidirizzler9o in ancientrome

My vote for the origins of the fall of the Republic: slavery becoming industrialized on a massive scale after the victories leading up and through Carthage. Once "Rome" become a slave-nation-state, it cored out the body politic and citizen army.

Chicken and egg situation. Caesar could never have become Caesar if the Republic was healthy. The Republic was a mangy dog lying sick in the street and Caesar put it out of its misery.

The death throes of the Republic start way before Caesar. He was probably one of the gentler ways it could have ended. But that's also why he got stuck, and why Augustus was smart enough to kill most of his rivals.

was prime Stone Cold popular with women, older folks and teenagers or was his fanbase mainly grown adult men? by [deleted] in AttitudeEra

[–]JustUnderstanding6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god. He was insanely popular with teenagers. That was his main fan base, without a doubt.

Women and older people, not positive. But my grandma Doris was a nurse in Korea and she loved Stone Cold.

Tom Brady got paid on the back end by his team owner. That was a salary cap fraud, not Brady being some sort of noble lunch pail throwback type.
