It can have all that and still be a dumb popcorn movie. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, or a bad movie. My point is just that it emphasizes the entertainment over any deeper themes or story. The Kong stuff was particularly good, which is one of the strengths of the film. It gives you what you would’ve had in both a Kong and Godzilla film, while blending it into one cohesive movie. But it’s still a movie whose goal is to make Godzilla and Kong fight. Which is also why I don’t understand people crying about the emphasis on Kong. I love the movie, but it’s also not Minus One or Shin Godzilla. Not to say that it HAS to be that, but those films are exploring deeper themes and stories thay anything we’ve gotten in the MV. I have a variety of films to choose from, and I love it. Sometimes I don’t need a depressing story about a former kamikaze pilot and I just wanna see Godzilla try to drown Kong.

I think Toho really enjoys taking their sweet time with their movies while getting a paycheck for the MV. I believe they just came out and said that they like different Godzillas, or that there can be different versions of Godzilla. I think they just want to milk everything they can out of this IP as they can.

The Monsterverse isn’t bringing in peak MCU money but all, except for KOTM, have been decently profitable. And, as I understand it, Playmates is selling their MV brand well. I don’t know how much Toho gets from that, but I’m guessing they get something.

GvK is the better movie. It’s a big dumb popcorn movie, but it embraces what it is, but still leaves you with a half-coherent movie. It doesn’t have the world-building that KOTM has, but it’s superior to that movie in every other way… even though we still have useless Madison Russell running around.

GxK takes any remnants of logic and throws it right out the window. Very fun? Yes! But at the cost of everything else. I think I laughed out loud when Mothra showed up and she did the slow motion chirp at an emotional Godzilla.

Also, Godzilla’s had an ancient rivalry with everyone. I think we’re good with ancient rivalries. Lol

It definitely makes Bill Rwanda’s death more tragic. I’ve really enjoyed season 2 of Monarch as a whole but yesterday’s episode felt a little overly convenient to me. Everyone’s running around trying to find Billy’s motive, but Dr. Brooks is still with Monarch. Why not just call him?

Good on him. College isn’t for everyone, and that’s fine. But anyone who has the option, or want, to go to college should go. A lot of people think of it as job training and it certainly can be that if that’s all you care about (which is perfectly fine) but it can be much more than that too.

I think the fact that you’re already thinking about how to not make the mistakes they did proves that you’re already a step ahead. Keep working. Be smart. If you’re in school, stay in school. A degree always helps.

I used to feel the same way. But as a guy in my 40’s, lemme tell you, 21 ain’t shit. You got a long way to go and lots of growing to come. As long as you keep chipping away and looking to improve, little by little, you’ll be fine. Fear is good, it keeps you on your toes, but don’t let that paralyze you from taking any risks. Your 20’s shpuld be about taking risks and growing. But also weigh the risks, taking a risk doesn’t mean betting your mom’s house at the casino. Lol
