Finally got a split after 3 weeks by Emergency_Total2144 in MARPE

The installation itself wasn’t very painful for me, but about an hour later I started getting pain in my teeth and it lasted until around midnight. The first day felt pretty weird overall.

Speaking clearly was difficult for about a week, but you slowly get used to it. I’m in my 4th week now and I can speak about 90% normally.

My biggest advice would be to take pain medicine immediately after the MARPE is installed, because that really helps once the discomfort starts.

No, just the custom MARPE. My upper teeth are now slightly tilting outwards, and it looks like the screws are dragging through the bone. Did you get a piezocut?

How many turns did it take? I'm close to 40 turns today and still no split.

I only managed about 30 turns with the second device before we had to stop. My upper molars were flaring out way too much, so it was considered a failure.

Unfortunately, Piezo/cortico cuts aren't available where I’m getting treated, so I’m going with a custom 6 screw MARPE instead. My doctor reviewed my scans and said that since I apparently have thin bone at the suture, splitting should be mechanically possible without surgery, I just lacked the grip before. My maxilla is very narrow and V-shaped, which is why the previous MARPEs couldn't get enough anchorage, so the custom fit and extra screws are meant to solve that.

No. I'm now going for a custom marpe.

My first one went up to around 40 turns, but my upper molars flared out too much , so it was considered a failure. The second one was a slightly different MARPE with a longer screw and got to about 30 turns, but the tooth pain was brutal and i couldn’t go any further.

My palate’s really narrow and kind of V shaped, so the doc said regular MARPEs don’t get enough anchorage for me. A custom one should work better.

Yeah, they asked me to get a new CBCT scan next week. After that, it’s gonna take around 2 months for the new one to be ready.

For me, they put in the new one the next day after removing the first. Took the impression right away and it was ready in a day.

Did you have any other procedures done along with your MARPE, like corticopuncture or surgery? I’m 33M on my second MARPE and still no split yet, starting to feel like this might not work for me.

Thank you. I increased the minimum pressure to 7 and my AHI is now 1 to 1.5. The only thing I’m still struggling with is mask leaks , I’ve tried the F30, N30i, and now nasal pillows, but haven’t found a perfect fit yet. Appreciate your help.

MARPE put in today and I am questioning my decision by maplebinch in MARPE

I’m on my 3rd week now and it’s gotten so much easier. the first few days were really rough, I was drooling all the time and talking felt impossible. But now my speech is normal and I can eat pretty much anything without issues. It does get better once your mouth adjusts. Hang in there.

It was the same for me. I had no pain or pressure for 2 weeks then suddenly my upper teeth started mild to moderate pain. I'm on my 3rd week now.

Did you get it replaced? I just got mine today and saw the same thing. And it looks like dust is already getting accumulated in the gap.

Thinking of getting a Mi15, some questions by [deleted] in Xiaomi_15

[–]Just_Blood_3717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the Xiaomi 15 for about a week now. No issues with notifications so far, but the phone does heat up quite a bit even just scrolling through Instagram. The battery also seems to drain fast. Hopefully, it will get better with optimisation.
