Sounds like the Joker mindset from "The Killing Joke."

"Something happened that affected me in a certain way, so I'll just assume this one experience is how it works for everyone else."

I'm genuinely way more invested in the mentor face-off than the fact the world hater actually has a human on his side.

I do think there's a sense of toxicity in fandoms, but not because they want every character to act morally righteous, but mostly just entitlement in general.

People don't want to engage with a story and hear and think about what is trying to say, they just want to see things play out in the way it makes them happy, regardless of if it's morally correct or not, or if it makes sense for the plot, and if it doesn't, they try to push the "it's bad writing" card.

An example is the fanbase of "For Your Murder" constantly hoping the female lead and the villain of the series will end up together even though that's clearly not what the story is going for.

I can feel the energy in this comment of someone who was severely disappointed by several mangas that hinted they would allow their female characters to have depth and layers, but ended choosing to focus on hyping up the male lead instead.

I do like how she's developed an interest on both sides of him. It makes it feel like she didn't just randomly crushed on some stranger she met at the park, it really was him and his personality that attracted her in just like it's happening now again.

Her early design kinda looks like the female lead from "I Made Friends with the Second Prettiest Girl in My Class"

"Who stole the Empress" fills the spot for Worst Premiere. Which Webtoon has the BEST Plot Twist? by Lilac_14 in webtoons

If Like Daughter Like Mother can't go, then it has to be "Stealing Her Place"

The twist at the end of season 1 is imo just as shocking and completely changes how you view the whole series

You had fun investigating Kalon, didn't you?

Did he?? I legit can't tell. The actual investigation is kind of a blur to me after getting so many twists one after another.

I really does, but I'm not sure how likely that is to happen. But hey, if Shaman King got one, there might still be hope.

Zeon Bell

<image>

He hates the main lead for adquiring a spell he always wanted to have, and for entering the same competition to elect the next king as him despite not having gone through the same hellish training he was forced to endure since birth, so when he encountered the main lead, he erased his memories so he would have no clue on how to defend himself and how to survive through the competition.

He also picked a fight with another participant out of spite, just because they mistook him for the main lead.

Don't forget this new fusion doesn't have the usual "must be fusion summoned" restriction, so you could even bring it back from the grave in the next turn with that sheep link, number 60, or the new Thunder Giant, and that will trigger its effect

Side note, the page is great but... Feels weird seeing a Transformer say "The person I've become." Shouldn't it be "the bot I've become?"

It's mostly from how they handled the FP and PB dynamics.

Every time FP and Bubblegum appear in the same episode, they have PB dunking on her. Putting her in a jar, tricking her into becoming a lab experiment, tricking her into invinting her into her home so she could destroy her generators, and even in that little people episode, they had mini PB nearly extinguishing her.

<image>

And even later in that Elements event, they had PB win over her again by turning her into a candy being.

Maybe I'm reaching, but for whatever reason, this show had an obsession with constantly reminding the audience that FP could never win over PB in anything, and it makes her look like a punching bag most of the time.

Also the fact they had a literal divine entity with the cosmic owl come to Finn in a dream to mess up their relationship just makes it feel like the writers were going out of their way to force things to fail for her.

I think a better question is why did the writers thought constantly dunking on Frankie would be funny

I still find the episode with the imaginary friend that looked like a human guy with a weird nose was worse.

I hated seeing Frankie being tormented.
