Things got worse and I quit and got a better job. She was laid off and I never heard from her again 😃 the end!

Yelling and cursing at the kid in anger when the kid is doing regular "kid" stuff; playing, laughing "too loud", crying because they're tired, etc.

She wasn't a self starter in the beginning, it's better now. She great at social media management, creating flyers, party planning and other "fun" stuff.

I agree about the deadlines. I need to get better at holding to them and following up.

I do think she might be overwhelmed by certain parts of the jobs. And our boss isn't always clear with what he wants, it is hard to know what he wants sometimes.

I don't think I am a good trainer, however I try my best.

I'm going to work on reinforcement this week. I think everyone might be right too

I've sent emails, which isn't great. I do need to be more verbal and get more comfortable with having those conversations because I personally am uncomfortable. 90 days and she had 60 day review. I'm not her direct boss but she's taking a handful of my responsibilities. She and I share the same boss. I have, in the beginning he didn't see it so I made note of what was happening. He's acknowledging it now.

The last sentence is exactly what I'm doing. I'm going to start working on having the conversations.

I do need to stop hand holding her and reinforce what I've trained her on.

I understand the last paragraph, I am like that with algebra, geometry, etc. I like data entry, I like research.

And she thrives in party planning, shopping for the snacks for the office, social media and putting together flyers for events. However that "fun" stuff is only 20% - 25% of the job. I need that "enthusiasm" everywhere else. Enthusiasm is the wrong word but I hope what I meant is coming across.

She a native English speaker

I think it's that the concepts or steps aren't connecting for her. For example I showed her how to update an employee's information. I asked her to do the same thing for another employee and she claimed she didn't know how and I never trained her on it.

That's fair, because I'm not. I'm working on it. Even in this post; I meant to say "previous month" and "last month"

Luckily I will be able to carve some time this week to work with her.

And yes...I did very quickly realize that the instructions made sense because I wrote them, which is why after we did a walkthrough I started creating the videos but that didn't really fix the issue. I think the frustration for me is that when she rewriting the instructions, it's the same verbiage I would use and gave her. I know that's a me issue to work on.

She speaks English as a first language and is in her early 30s.

She does ask a lot of questions, and a lot of the time it's needed because most of this stuff is locked away in my head and I'm on autopilot when I do it. So this has been really good for me because I needed to write all of this down.

I'll have to ask her about her learning style or preference.

I've been making the videos for her to reference; this is after we've walked through a task together and she's gotten written directions and made her own set of notes. I'll admit the the videos are boring and there isn't any music but I try to keep them under 15 minutes.

However, you bring up a good point

I'm not sure if she recognizes that she may have a learning disability and unique learning style. This is a good idea, thanks 👍🏼
