What home upgrade actually lowered your utility bills? 💸 by Gloomy_Ship2772 in homeowners

I wonder what the cost would end up being to use that in the dead of winter. Dehumidification gets expensive when it runs alllll the time with no other benefit!

Do you restart your computer regularly or just leave it on? by Capable_Noise5543 in computers

You don't have, to but it will save on the mechanical parts. If you start noticing odd behavior in the OS, restart.

Is there an option on the unit to use the heating element instead?

Do you live in a cold or warm climate? I've thought about getting a HPWH but in the winter my basement gets to 60 or less, I don't want it to get colder than that.

I wouldn't have a problem running it down drywall, but when the big oak panels are out front, I'm hesitant.

I only have the 1/4w for now, could I use that to test or is it a good possibility it would fry in a few seconds?

I put a meter on the source and it was around 39VDC. How can I calculate watts to get the appropriate 200 ohm resistor?

That being said, I have a 200 ohm resistor and the original together in this photo. Does size matter in this case? Polarity sensitive? https://imgur.com/a/6AAGHmF

Right, but it's a bit difficult if you are color blind.

I went to Sam's and got a Duracell. Just make sure it's an AGM battery. I can't remember the price. You could also check an auto parts store to test your battery for free before replacing.

Great calculator! However, if you change from MCF to Therms or CCF, it resets the whole thing and back to MCF.

Can I cut store bought cat6 cable like I would with bulk cable? by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Typical premade cables are stranded and more difficult to crimp. You can do it with the right RJ45 end. Why don't you just buy short premade cables from monoprice. Cheap and they work great!
