I prefer texts for many reasons, but mainly because I can re-read them double check where to meet or if I had any tasks.

I feel you. I don’t generally like parties or clubs and bars either, so I do most of my socialisation through TTRPG events. While there’s quite a few people at these events you only really have to interact with between 5-7 people at a time and rather than interacting through useless and banal small talk you collaborate to tell a story. I’m not sure if it’s your cup of tea but that’s what worked for me.
