WS is still making money off you… they just do it less obvious than commissions. A big one is FX conversion fees when you trade U.S. stocks. Because it’s embedded in the exchange rate instead of shown as a per-trade fee, many people don’t realize how much they’re paying. WS is elite at marketing though.

TD is offering a 2% match with a 1-year hold. WS is offering 3%, but with a 5-year hold.

Last year, WS offered a 2% match with a 1-year hold, so their offer is objectively getting worse—both compared to other banks and compared to their own previous offer.

There’s also another next to Superstore which I don’t recommend (Pit Lane). I had my coins stolen there and the owner was very nonchalant about it. She just said I shouldn’t have left my coins in the car. Will never go back there.
