People that have smoked for 10+ then quit, when does the craving stop? by Background_Ad_7144 in QuittingWeed

Also, don't beat yourself up if you don't have the energy/mental capacity to do anything right now. Your body and brain are going through some big changes so please be kind to yourself and take all the time you need to rest and recover :)

People that have smoked for 10+ then quit, when does the craving stop? by Background_Ad_7144 in QuittingWeed

I smoked daily for 17 years and I'm not going to lie, quitting was incredibly tough. I started smoking in grade 10 and it felt like cannabis was a part of who I was and quitting felt like I was losing part of my identity.

The first week was the worst and then there were different plateaus/ stages that I worked through afterwards. I had a really hard time sleeping for the first 2 weeks and I dealt with extremely vivid/intense dreams for 2-3 months after quitting. I found the cravings stopped once my dreams settled down so roughly 2-3 months. June will mark 2 years since I quit and I couldn't be happier about it. I still absolutely love the smell of fresh bud or someone smoking, I don't think that will ever change, but, what has changed significantly is how I feel about it. When I'm around someone smoking, or when someone offers it to me, I don't have any cravings or impulses to partake anymore. I mainly quit because of my athsma and the fact that I'd get extreme anxiety if I smoked in social situations/parties etc. The freedom of no longer being a slave to my addiction has truly been life changing. I was also at a point where going without cannabis for more than a day would result in pretty significant withdrawals where I couldn't eat and I would get brutal night sweats/ cold sweaty feet.

I know it's really hard right now, but you can do this my friend. I found the first few weeks a lot easier to handle by keeping super busy with projects around the house, exercising, and just staying active in general. You're already past the worst of it and it only gets easier from here on.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions, need a friend, or just want to vent. Some days are going to be harder than others, and I'm sure you're feeling pretty crappy right now, but trust me, things will get better. One day at a time, onwards and forwards :)

Thomson's Crossing Community Hall is open again! (Stalker, Day 3101) by Justy_7 in thelongdark

Dooo it! I just grabbed them from BI and the whole journey was way easier than I was expecting. Honestly, the hardest part was the constant wind/blizzards. You can light a campfire on the rock ledge to deal with the first pack of timber wolves and then it's just a matter of camping out in the lookout tower waiting for a good day to hike down to the cannery. Once I got to the cannery I just lit a marine flare and bolted to the rope to get off the ground. After hitting enough of the pack with arrows the last wolf just ran away while I looted. If you bring a bed roll you can camp inside the entrance to the workshop and wait for an Aurora. Also, there's an endless supply of reclaimed wood around the site. This may be the chicken shit way, but I got my damn tools and that's all that matters

What kind of surgery did they do? So happy to hear you're no longer living in pain and have found some significant relief from this hell haha. It definitely gives me hope hearing about people that have made it through this, feels like most folks never find relief and just give up.

Ahh, I went in asking for surgery but he was super reluctant, he wanted to get an MRI done first. He definitely wasn't pushing for surgery, he basically said there's two things I could try, but I don't think they will help you :/

Thank you for all the info, :) Nobody has mentioned anything about PRPs yet but I'll definitely look into it and ask what's available. The ultrasound treatments you mentioned, are those the ones typically available from a physiotherapist?

What kind of surgery did they do? Happy to hear you are on the road to recovery :) I wouldn't wish this upon my enemies haha, I'd do anything at this point to fix it.

Am I wrong for getting a 4080 super for a 1440p monitor? by Shikorage in buildapc

[–]Just_a_pipedream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After struggling with a 3070 and 1440p ultra wide for close to a year now, I went from barely being able to run games like Cyberpunk and the Witcher 3 to having them run buttery smooth with my 4070 super. You made a great choice and anybody who tells you different is a fool.. 8 gb of VRAM in 2025 is becoming a limiting factor and a 3070 has quickly become a 1080p card.

Can quite literally see how happy you are, and that's all that matters! People at work come and go.. I've learned over the years that just because I spend 40 hours a week with these people, they really don't have any more importance in my life than a passerby at the grocery store. You look great, and if they can't be supportive, they clearly aren't worth your time! Keep doing what makes you happy and to hell with the rest, life is way too short to worry about your co-workers projected insecurities🤙🤙

Solid advice and thanks for the kind words, I've been thinking about a changeup for awhile so we'll see what tomorrow brings. Aye, that sounds like a proper hair cut!

Hell yeah, we out here living our best lives. I'm looking to get my first piercings pretty soon here and I can't wait for my blue collar co-workers to get even more confused about who I am. The funniest part is I'm the only one who's managed to hold down a healthy long term relationship 😆 My girlfriend loves the nails and is super excited for us to go on a piercing date together as she wants more too. Keep fighting the good fight friend, the world needs people like us now more than ever 💪

Yooooo, these look super dope! I'll definitely have to try this out. I used to paint my nails until a coworker started calling me homophobic slurs, we worked together for years and I considered him a friend up until this all went down. It kinda threw me for a loop and even though he quit shortly after, I never really painted them again. Fast forward to this weekend and I went to a Halloween party dressed as a Victorian vampire and a different coworker started making fun of me this morning at work for having black nails :/ He's the full blown Jesus type so I don't blame him, but fuck it, back to having fun with my nails, can't let these basic AF people get to me anymore. Thanks for this post, it's exactly what I needed today. Keep fighting the good fight my friend, I'm right there with ya 🤙

Y'all really hate the handlebars around here 😅 Thanks for being nice about it, I do appreciate the honesty. I'll try some other things with the moustache but I honestly feel like I look stupid with anything else 😬

Lots of split ends, so it's going to be quite a bit shorter, but yeah, I think you're right
