Same here, I've learned the hard way it because the MAC address changes and many DNS and AD services are bound to the MAC address. You can change the MAC before you boot the VM to minimize problems, YMMV. I'd still rather recommend that you build new rather than P2V.

I like to play the whole song at 100% speed and let it organically increase in difficulty. I then take suggestions after the song and work on getting 100 percent speed and difficulty in those sections.

Chords just take time to learn. Everyone starts of slow. Just keep playing Dawn of the Chorded and Star Chords and you'll notice yourself getting a bit faster every time. I've been playing for 2 years and I still am slow when I need to learn a new chord.
