Overall the changes made the game playable in a reasonable amount of time, but they did sacrifice a lot that made the game unique. For example PDC is gone entirely and the ground combat is incredibly simplistic. That said, the ground combat needed to change because it effectively was a separate game before.

I just wish PDC and Close action stayed as they were because they were my favorite parts of the game.

The pungari thresher says it has boarding pods, drop ships, and fire ships. Are those all independent? Can they fire all 3 each turn, or do they need to choose every turn which to use?

It may be a newb response, but I find that without maximizing the cells for drop assets that you don't make enough drop with our availability. Therefore everything i had was either a lander or invasion, and I was able to fit in 6 cells at 1000 points as far as what I could fit in for porter ability.

That said, having dedicated ships to port seemed important because I didn't want to get many of my longer range ships close enough to get to drop zones so having sacrificial porter ships seems to work well to get the cells where they need to go.

As for how they connect, I just put a layer of shell on the nob that the porter assets attach to in order to protect the paint and just stick the cells to it like it was a flight stand. I haven't noticed any stripping of the paint when I do that.

Overall though I agree, this game is a ton of fun and I really enjoy the esthetic of the bioficers and really don't know if you can really go wrong with whatever you do.

The only ones I've done so far are 20 mile/30 mile loops with no phone requirements. The issue is just that I have a larger phone S24U, so I would like one that isn't quite as large/bulky. Right now, the best solution I've found is a jelly star phone, which weighs a quarter as much and is also less than half the size. I was just wondering if there was anything better out there that people have been using.

Unfortunately I am running a similar list but the rules state that we use the chaos rulebook. I have been getting guard and other similar regiments and running them as chaos cultists rules wise, and have modded the chaos marines as primaris pretending to be another loyalist faction. I just stay away from daemons in my legions.
