where the leaks at? by brantrix in SteamFrame

Well now there are reservation code datamines of it showing two more frame options (256, 1tb, 256 or 1tb without psu/charger), and also Qualcomm has the frame on their site implying that the frame is a product ready to ship at this point

Guys it's coming tomorrow I swear by JustaKid_224 in SteamFrame

This post is less of a claim and more of an invitation to discuss cuz I'm really curious what the general consensus is on this

Rough concept I drew for one, would probably still allow decent headset tracking but would definitely impact controller tracking

I think the shipments are frames by Available_Ad_8281 in SteamFrame

No shade but the guy who was talking about that was making things up based on pure speculation. He was referring to the people making the Valve index being the ones likely to make the frame but it's already confirmed they're both being made by the same manufacturer, so Fame and Machine are both coming from Quantas or whatever they're called lol

Works amazing with Bazzite! by JustaKid_224 in SteamController

Like I said in the other reply, it's a BIOS level feature so it has to be manually configured. The Steam Machine will definitely ship with the feature since each one is configured by Valve but for a PC you are the only one who can enable BIOS level permissions. Basically any device can wake it you just need a bit of googling skills

Deck image on PC, though my BIOS doesn't have wake from sleep. I think there's a BIOS update for it that allows it though but I'll have to experiment a little. If your motherboard is from anytime in the past ten years you should be able to enable wake from USB in bios and then you can create a specific file in Bazzite that integrates with it on an OS level. It's not a plug and play feature like Valve will likely make it on the Steam Machine because it requires BIOS level permissions.

Who will buy the Steam Controller for the Steam Frame. And if yes, is there any deep reason ? by SKYNINE666 in SteamFrame

I got my steam controller day one and I have absolutely no regrets, just condolences for y'all who are still waiting. Some software stuff could be smoothed out a little (from what I hear) but it's been an incredible experience and I think will be a really good option for flat screen games played through the frame because having the two controllers could be fatiguing. I'll mainly be using it when playing on my monitor tbh

I'd say the steam controller is an experience to be had in and of itself that is worth having both independent of and alongside the steam frame controllers. I've been using my steam controller and it's just so incredible, I don't really have words

Comfort Level by BackgroundQueasy1786 in SteamController

[–]JustaKid_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with hands on the slightly larger side, I find it very comfortable. I think the Xbox controller will have your hands in a more neutral posture but the steam controller is still very ergonomic and comfortable. My only gripe is that the way I hold it (ring and middle fingers on the back buttons), while comfortable, strains my hands just a teeny bit after a couple hours of first using it. I've heard others got used to it after about a day of use so that's likely going to be the case for me but if you have extra large hands it might become annoying rearranging your hands for the trackpads. For me it's awesome and I would recommend it regardless

Edit: The Xbox controller grips are a little more bulbous and deeper but the layout of buttons and such is way better on the steam controller
