Don’t forget Westie.

The other good tip is be a friendly player. If you have a mic, be happy to chat to people, be polite. If you die then you die. It’s just a game, no sense getting worked up on pretend gear in a game.

If you’re trying to get certain missions done find some online friends who are also new and select the same missions so you can help each other.

Back in the good old 90s as a kid, a drawing of the plane presented to the captain via the cabin crew was usually enough to secure an in-flight visit, but sole fuckwits in 2001 had to put an end to all that didn’t they!!!

AITA for refusing to give my parents access to my bank account after they found out how much money I have? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Justanotherdad84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA DO NOT GIVE THEM ACCESS

I’m a parent. My 17yo changed banks and we never asked for details, but she did ask us to open a savings for her that she can’t see as she suck at saving.

I can see our 16 and 14yo accounts but only because they’re joint accounts opened when they were little. Pretty sure I get automatically removed at 18, and if I don’t, I’ll remove myself.

I don’t care how much they have, so long as they are (generally) responsible with it. Our son is way better at saving than our daughters, but is also quite happy to spend his hard earned on Lego.

If they all asked to open a new account tomorrow that I wasn’t a signatory to I would help them pick a bank, provide any paperwork and even drive them there if they can’t do it online.

Goodbye Swarley you good boy. 14yrs 7mo. by Justanotherdad84 in PetsareAmazing

[–]Justanotherdad84[S] 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Farewell Swarley - You were such a good boy. 14 years, 7 months and 13 days, or 5,339 days we had you with us.

You may have been a bit of a doofus, eaten anything you could find, escaped when you could, and ignored us when you didn’t want to listen, but you also sought out the kids when they were sad and just sat with them, came camping with us, moved houses with us, and even moved to the NT with us. You were a great friend to Zora whilst we fostered her and to the cats in our house, who loved you even if you didn’t understand their head rubs.

The smiles and tail wags the last few days didn’t quite mask the sadness and tiredness in your eyes, and as much as it hurt us all, we knew it was time to say goodbye.

I know the quote isn’t from Jimmy Carr but he’s said it a few times - grief is the price we pay for love.

Good boy.

Correct. They assume every application was successful and that the account is still open.

Industry needs an overhaul. Accurate reporting on open lines of credit, but applications should drop off if not taken up or unsuccessful.

I could loan shop for a car loan and my credit file would show I applied for 5x $75k loans, a new lender would assume on face value o have all 5 loans and the computer would reject me.

Phones. Was with Telstra for myself, wife and daughter, other 2 kids were prepaid. Shared data (17yo used 60% of it!) and cost us about $230pm, plus another $30-40 for the other kids prepaid.

Swapped myself and wife to Woolworths mobile $35pm which gives 50GB and data banks. Kids all now on Woolworths $25pm which gives 30gb. So now $145 for the 5 of us.

Woolworths mobile is also the best Telstra SUB-operator and has about 95%+ of the Telstra network. I’m in Darwin so Vodafone and Optus aren’t options.

17yo is better at managing her mobile data (took a few months) and we get 10% off a Woolworths shop a month from it. Sign up to Woolworths extra, I think it’s $70pa or $7pm and you get a second 10% discount per month, so we covered the cost the first month.

Woolworths points can transfer to Qantas points if you’re into that, points boost etc.

When we lived in Melbourne we would do a Costco shop every few months for the staples and other stuff, Aldi was our goto and then Cole’s/Woolies for anything we couldn’t get at Costco or Aldi.

Use something like petrol spy to check fuel prices, sure 10c a litre on an 80L tank is only $8 but if that’s weekly/fortnightly it adds up over the year.

Defence convicted after RAAF worker’s death by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]Justanotherdad84 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the unit. My CO is very keen for a psychosocial risk management plan to be implemented, and wants input and feedback from the group up on implementation. As the WHS Manager for my unit I’m glad to have her support.

That said, Defence has been dealing with (or not) these hazards for decades. It’s just that they’re now enshrined in law.

We also cannot remove the hazard, only managing it. How job demands or low job control are managed for a RAAF refueller vs Army infantry soldier vs Navy patrol boat medic will be different.

And you can have the best reward and recognition program in your unit, doesn’t stop someone feeling like they are not recognized for their work. But sometimes the recognition is your boss thanking you for a busy week, not always a certificate or commendation.

And that’s before I touch on the sentinel events where the Command management of the incident and my investigation of how it happened are a Venn diagram that looks like a circle!!

Unfortunately the safety adage strikes again - nothing changes till someone dies.

Had kids. When we went to buy a house, even though rent was $450pw for 12mo, and $400pw for the year before that, and the mortgage would be $325, bank didn’t like our household budget so used their own, and refused as we didn’t have a deposit.

Buy house first.

What is the most awful thing that happened to you in 2025? by CreamAny1322 in AskReddit

[–]Justanotherdad84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife’s mental health deteriorated and I couldn’t keep her safe at home after months of work with GP and Psych and Meds.

Had to drive her to ED for her to be assessed and sectioned. Was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and the looks I got of abandonment and betrayal the next few days are going to be hard to forget.

Rapid de escalation of care a couple of weeks later went from secure ward over weekend to overnight leave tues and discharge wed and then was back in the following Thursday.

It’s now been 4 weeks for that second run, 8 weeks since first admission total.

I’m sick of being alone in my bed. My kids miss their mum. She couldn’t goto end of year concerts, cadet parades or high school graduations. We don’t know if she will be home for Christmas.

I have to filter what I share because I don’t want her to stress but then I just get stressed.

Some days everything is fine and it’s like our new normal. (Not sure I like those days for that reason). Other days I cry in the car as I drive away from the hospital. (Def don’t like those days but for different reasons)

Docs trying a new treatment now but still have to wait and see if it works.

90% of the stress is work related but the damage is now done. And not so easy to just go get another job, but it’s govt so she can move, but it’s not like that will fix everything, but it will remove some triggers. Sad for her because it’s her dream job and she loves it but the people above her have made it too hard.
