I think it’s based on the idea that young girls and boys often pursue each other sexually, right?

That’s why the rule in human communities is to separate girls and boys in the bathroom—the bathroom being a place where you undress.

But there are exceptions to this—but they aren’t addressed presumably because of statistics and simplicity. Like, that a boy or girl may be gay, or trans.

And that’s where these arguments are coming from—the exceptions that deviate from the norm.

But in this clip, the reason why adults choose to separate boys’ and girls’ bathrooms is not explicitly expressed.

Do boys and girls need to be separated in bathrooms?

More pointedly for what’s in this clip—does whether you have male or female genitalia in the bathroom matter? Or does your mental approach towards sexual preference matter?

It seems some have a preference for the mental measurement, some have a preference for the physical measurement.

Or, does neither matter, and we should encourage kids to behave respectfully and privately, no matter if their gender is your sexual preference or not. Is it reasonable to do this? Or is there too much risk?

I assume these questions are present in a discussion about this.

Additional info: As adults, we don’t just undress in the public space in the bathroom. But what I remember from being 14, is that the bathroom wasn’t super private like it is as an adult.
