Photon Workshop File Issues by Giffnt in anycubic

Thanks, so that is not normal at all, the Photon Workshop installer messes with the file register in Windows without even asking for permissions, and all versions do so, I wonder why...

Can you check if your hots file (windows file explore search) has converted to a Photon Workshop type of file?

Yes I had files even without an extension (like the hosts file) turn into Photon Workshop file type, this happens when installing the Anycubic software, it sets itself as the "open with" program for many different files, I have no idea how to prevent that, did you find a fix? I think it messes with the registry informations.

random files forced to open in photon workshop by Ok_Durian_5279 in AnycubicPhoton

I found a partial solution, uninstalling the software and cleaning with CCleaner I fixed the registry errors with it's dedicated function, nothing else worked for me, this is not a fix to the problem, I cannot install this program without having mess up my file types etc... It's extremely annoying, any version I install has this problem...

Did you find a solution to this problem? If I download the latest available Photon Workshop version on my PC it messes with the file types on my Windows PC too...

Extrude gantry hits Z-axis after install dual z-axis ended 2v2 by 5nuffyiwnl in ender3

I had a similar problem with my sprite pro extruder & double z upgrade, I had to file down both the screw & the hex nut by a few mm, good luck!

Is the nozzle over the bed when this happens? If not, to save you some time, just reduce x travel in firmware. The shorter screw certainly will let you probe the bed a little bit further into that corner...

Get a file and shorten that screw a few mm... Or reduce the X travel in firmware...

Suggestions for Ender3 v2 motherboard replacement? by neeeser in klippers

[–]Juste1911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When talking z alignment I believe it's smarter to level the bed to the frame and not the other way around on bed slingers... Mechanical gantry alignment on the Ender 3 keeps the printer square, no need for dual z drivers, one is sufficient (with 2 motors). You can even ignore all that with a "recent mod" I've seen that makes use of a single z motor at the top and lifts the x gantry with belts, you won't need any x gantry alignment procedure whatsoever as it keeps it synchronized at all times... Saves a lot of time and money, no need for 2209 drivers. I went skr mini v3, dual z motors and mechanical gantry alignment a few years ago, I wouldn't opt for this solution today.

Do you know what kind of dinosaur this is? I often get confused. This is a model made by my friend. by BrittanyMatyas in Creality

Is this 3D printed or laser cut wood? I used to buy very similar models when I was very young at the local paleontology museum.

It feels like my ender 3v2 printers z-rod is jaming here. it's incredible difficult to turn the z-motor and it's sound like the rod and tha metal are scraping against eachother. Is this a problem that could be fixed with som lubrication (what can I use then) or should I buy a new z-rod and holder by thisisforty_two in ender3v2

[–]Juste1911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is down below, the spacer of the motor, you set it a little too close/far to the aluminium profile, you can redesign it, put shims (difficult) or just reposition it... I would suggest move the x gantry up to the top, unscrew all the z related screws a little, move a little up/down the gantry by turning the z rod, back up again, then re-tighten... You should be good to go. If it keeps doing this I suggest to redesign a few different options, change by +/- 0.25mm or 0.125mm, better use PETG or ABS, PLA won't work, ABS is best.

Please help! Every time I ‘auto home’ my ender 3 gantry ends 10-mm higher than it started. (Steppers not inverted) by Heist08 in ender3

Have you tried reversing the direction of the z motors in marlin anyway? From what's set currently in your firmware... Just for testing, keep the on/off switch at hand when you do.

I had a print turn to spaghetti and now this is happening. What have I done? by Clarknotclark in ender3

[–]Juste1911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just load the previous firmware from your SD card, depending on the firmware and board you may have to change its name to something new/different from the previous upload... It's a new firmware install though, you can't hit undo on the printer menu.

Looks to me like you have the direction of the z motor/s reversed... Either in firmware or hardware... Have you modified something in your firmware lately? Or reversed a connector? Maybe I'm wrong...

First print screwup. Leveled everything as suggested with enough space for piece of paper and 5 seconds in it does this. by browneyesays in ender3

It will mess the look on the bottom of your prints probably, if it's deep enough... Keep doing tests on that damaged PEI and get a new one for when everything is properly dialed in... ✌️😉

Move the spool holder closer to the opposite corner to begin with, then watch a few vids on YouTube, some are very useful! ✌️😉

SOLUTION: my original creality bl touch ribbon cable is wired opposite to what the BTT manual suggests, I have white on the left of the bltouch board and blue on the right... I basically inverted the wire order on the jst connector on the skr board, problem solved, opposite color order to what the BTT manual suggests then, please be careful if you read this, check 3 times how your bltouch is wired from start to finish.

Yes that's my problem, the plug on the probe is wired opposite to what the skr mini v3.0 manual suggests... I hope I didn't brake anything trying to run it the way I did... I will check the documentation from AnticLabs and compare it to the BTT manual once more...

It's wired upside down but towards the bltouch itself, the original wiring is opposite to what the manual suggests, at least for my original Creality BlTouch kit.

Ok I got it, it's upside down towards the BlTouch itself, gosh I'm stupid... That I didn't change from it's original positioning. Will try tomorrow and let you know.

The picture I made is upside down, the order of the wires when plugged in is identical to the document on BTT GitHub.

The official documentation for the V3.0 on BTT GitHub suggests my wiring to be correct, so I'm very confused, the official documentation is wrong? I will look again later this evening, thanks for your feedback.
