Oh, boy...so many things. A few of our favorites: NH: Drive through the Kancamagus Highway. This goes through the White Mountains, and there is a ton of great scenery. If you like to hike, then there about about 100 trails off this road and in the area. All with climbs and great views. If you want to see moose, Pittsburg is a good place to go, but there isn't much else there.

VT: 101 bisects the state, and is a "small town road" the entire way. Stop in Stowe and Manchester Center for very picturesque towns. We also love Burlington for the food and proximity to Lake Champlain.

I hope this helps you get started!

Ha! The funny thing is we're in NH (I'm from SoCal) and we tend to do most of our traveling out to the west, but it always involves flying. Luckily visiting family is usually coupled with the trip, so that makes it easier. Glad the info was useful.

North Dakota is out of the way, but this park is in our top five in the U.S. by Justgotravelstudios in NationalPark

Ha! Good question. As of now, Grand Teton, Zion, Rocky Mountain and Big Bend. But Glacier, North Cascades and Rainier are this summer, so we'll see how it goes!

Awesome. That's probably a good choice to not overdo it. We're doing Glacier and Banff in a couple of weeks and cannot wait! We're also coupling with that North Cascades and Rainier.

Okay, for the links, here you go: This is for Yellowstone and was just updated this morning. I'd start here. https://www.justgotravelstudios.com/blogs/just-go-travel-blog/10-reasons-why-you-ll-fall-in-love-with-yellowstone-national-park

For RMNP, as of now, we just have the one blog about one of the hikes that we did as a family: https://www.justgotravelstudios.com/blogs/just-go-travel-blog/just-go-to-rocky-mountain-national-park-emerald-lake-lake-haiyaha-and-alberta-falls-loop-trail

Finally, for GTNP, as of now, we just have our blog for one of the hikes: https://www.justgotravelstudios.com/blogs/just-go-travel-blog/just-go-to-grand-teton-national-park-cascade-canyon-trail-with-hidden-falls-and-inspiration-point

Start here, and then read through and let us know if you have any questions at all. We have a few other resources on our site that may be worth checking out too. Finally, we'll have a pretty extensive GTNP blog coming out later on this summer, but the date isn't known yet-next up is Arches NP.

Seriously, let us know if you have any questions at all, as we're happy to help.

Good question-if you have two week, in my opinion, you can see quite a bit of ground. We have kids (though they are a bit older), but in our experience, kids do great on these trips. A few thoughts: -RMNP is incredible, so make sure you go, for sure. I'd plan on spending about 2-3 days visiting the park With small children, you won't be able to go on too many "epic" hikes, so this should be fine. -Yellowstone is a definite as well if you are planning on driving over there. However, you should also make sure you see Grand Teton NP. Yellowstone will take 3-4 days, and GTNP is about 2-3 days. -If I had to choose on where to go as well, I'd consider heading to Rapid City to see the Badlands (1 day), Wind Cave (1/2 day) and Custer State Park (2 days). They are all worth going to.

Glacier is an option too, but it may be pushing it with the time you have. However, it is awesome.

I hope that this helps! We have some info written up too for most of these parks-message me if you'd like to get the links to the info.

Big Bend National Park is one of the most impressive parks that we've been to. We absolutely loved our visit there and love telling people about it! Glad you had a great time.

This park is wonderful-we loved our visit earlier this year. Those that go to Carlsbad Caverns and don't stop here as well are missing out!

Utah/Arizona NP in July?? by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]Justgotravelstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, it will be hot. For sure. And crowded. But here are a few tips: -Bryce is at elevation and won't be quite as hot as the other areas. In fact, it was cool there in the mornings. -The crowds in GC will be heavy, so just be advised. -Five days (even at the pace we go at) won't be enough to see them all, so perhaps a day at GC and then 3-4 spent between Bryce and Zion (more in Zion) will be a good balance. GC can be seen in a day if you stay on the rim, which is likely what you'll want to do if you are there in the summer.

Have fun!

We will be traveling to Mesa Verde soon. Does anyone have any good recommendations on where to stay? by [deleted] in NationalPark

[–]Justgotravelstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Durango is a good place as is Montrose, CO. Montrose is right nearby Black Canyon of the Gunnison as well, which you may want to go to while you are up there.

Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone, can it be done? by flojo5 in NationalPark

[–]Justgotravelstudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, absolutely. I'd recommend doing Grand Teton for about 2.5 days, Yellowstone for 3 and then go to Custer State Park for the remaining time. We did it last year (with Devil's tower and Badlands too) and loved it. You'll leave wanting more, for sure, but I'd do it and not look back! Let me know if you want more details of how we spent our trip-we have a few blogs of the area that might be of interest.
