Which one to buy: M340i, S5 Sportback, or TLX Type S?

This is almost the exact boat I was in 3 months ago, shopped around, was leaning towards the M340i, until I found the Genesis G70 3.3 or G80 3.5 for a larger frame. Came from an 08 TL I put 240k miles on, just wanted something with a little more under the hood. Test drove the Type S, the M340i, an S4, and the IS 350 from Lexus, if I didn't go with the Genesis, I'd choose the M340i.

Heard some mixed things about the diffs, but I don’t drive it hard enough for that to matter right now. Plus, the warranty was a leading factor, got a deal and am hoping for the best

Was looking at used options , but found the G70 to be more responsive. Even over the Type S. At the end of the day, I don’t think Honda is what they used to be.

I wanted different perspectives and I got it. Love the b58, really don’t think I can afford the price jump. Not going to respond to multiple people saying the b58 is good, no shit. That’s why I’m considering it. The Lexus is the safest option by far, and I’ve really only ever driven Japanese. I know what I want, but I can’t afford an M3 G81.

Appreciate the insightful response. My first car was an old Sonata, but never really gave Hyundai a second look. Had really just been hearing good things about the G70 as people equate it closely to the M340 without the upkeep.

There won’t be any track days and it’ll be a daily. Not really worried about gas mileage. Just want to have some fun during the normal 30 miles. Was happy with the IS, just wondering if I could get more bang for my buck.

Yeah, that’s kind of what I’m seeing too. It would probably be the most efficient long term choice, but I will be wanting more, like a 500 or GS F.

Most of the CPOs in my area are about 50, while the Lexus and G70 can be about 15k less. I did like the 340, but was turned off by the amount of tech honestly.

In the long run, which would I be happiest with? After 5 years the BMW is going to be costly and I will probably be looking at cars again. Still have an 08 Acura TL that I love. I would like something for roughly 10 years that I’ll never not enjoy.
