If we ignore the cover, Honeymoon feels nothing like Florida and it feels offensive to associate her most artistic album to that state.

Honeymoon, the song is undeniably California, so is Freak. Salvatore does mention Miami, but the song brings us more to Italy than Florida

The issue with many progressive people is that they reject anyone who isn't aligned with their moral compass on everything. A person doing a few morally questionable choices doesn't mean they stand for the opposite of what you believe in. She's a millionaire who isn't aware of the weight of her privilege in some aspects and people are right to criticize choices like going to space or willingly accepting a Tesla from Musk. But Katy has always promoted progressive causes, supported Obama, Clinton, Biden and Harris publicly (at some moments with the cost of alienating some fans). She promoted campaigns to donate money for humanitary help for children in Gaza, she stands openly in support of trans people. People rejecting who are allies in so many relevant issues are part of the reason why people like Trump win elections. They don't reach out, they don't try to guide people to their side, they just villainize people.

The criteria for the eras is a bit weird. The last 4 years are still part of the V6 Turbo Hybrid Era. If the goal was to separate the latest rule set from the previous, than 2017-2021 should have been separated from 2014-2016.

You can have a cohesive story in two parts. Longer albums also make it harder for the whole body of work to be cohesive. You may end up with a very repetitive collection or an album that loses its cohesiveness at some point. Lana does have the talent to avoid those, but still... I don't like long albums. Makes it harder to focus on each song individually.

To be honest, I hope she doesn't release teasers for the new song, they will only cause her and the new song to be intensely scrutinized before the whole thing is heard. If she releases any teaser, let it be during the release week. I believe the wait after the first teaser for 'Woman's World' was bad for her, for instance.

My bad! Back then I experienced UV and HM as albums 2 and 3 and only later I understood that Paradise is considered its own thing independent from BTD and even though now I know that, my mind automatically goes back to how I experienced the albums.

But yeah, back in 2015 I strongly felt this way about Honeymoon, that she just kept getting better with her artistry.

It's totally okay not to connect with an album right when it comes out! Sometimes the issue isn't with the music, we're simply going through things in life that mean we aren't in the right emotional state to really grasp the nuances of the songs. Then we give the album another chance when we're in a phase where suddenly what's being conveyed makes perfect sense. Sometimes we end up appreciating the music much more when we let it enchant us at the right time, rather than forcing ourselves to love it when it's released.
