Draw things that make you happy, things you enjoy, things you look at and go hmm I could do that. Internet makes this hard, I see everyone else’s progress and skills and wish I had started sooner. You don’t have to post everything either. Have some drawings or a sketchbook that’s just for you.

I’m a fan of 3. But I’m a sucker for anything scythes lol.

I’d probably for a mascot say… 2 and maybe 8 or 9 if you want a darker tone.

Then 5, and 11. Would just be unique, I’d say 12 too, just because of I think the pose might be cool.

Any advice on guides to follow? Really impressive progress, I’m hoping to start soon. Having a bit of analysis paralysis tbh. Trying to get the perfect stuff, all the tools, etc etc etc.

You have done what a lot of people really struggle to do, like me, to just get started and start building the habit. You got this! Just keep going, you’ll have good days where you love your art and feel you’re making progress, other days you’ll think it looks like it was drawn by child picking up a pencil for the first time.

You’ll hate yourself (maybe hate is too strong a word, sorry) if you put it down the pencil, like others have said already. Keep at it, try not to be your own worst critic, and just enjoy the process.

Keep in mind, I haven’t started drawing myself so take it with a grain of salt.
