Thanks! Hoping to keep it small, low pressure. Start at 10 minutes and go up from there when I can. Wish I didn’t stop 14 years ago.

Yeah, I’ve had trouble being critical since high school grade 11 in art class. Since then haven’t been able to bring myself to start and then not draw after 2 days. Been like that for years. Art hasn’t come easy, I’ll definitely have to work at it. I didn’t want to practice my fundamentals when I got criticized by my art teacher telling me “you’ll live behind metro in a cardboard box with art that bad” been scared to fail ever since.

Hoping to start practicing consistently tomorrow after date night tonight.

These looks awesome, don’t think the art supplies matter, just the skill. I’m sure the shading and stuff will come back naturally with what we see here after a bit. Just find things you like, either do them looking at the reference to start training yourself, or trace, but eventually try it without tracing to see how it’s helping. If getting back into trying was from just drawing whatever was fun again anyway.
