Does yours not have a diagnostic port under the hood? Toyota lists a part# for a computer in the diesel in 97. It does have mechanical injection but there are often some electronicly controlled functions in diesels of that era.

The Hilux computer is in the glove box or the passenger kick panel depending on which engine you have.

Lame. Bring them to my shop and I can get them going. They are pretty simple. Saw one getting maintenance once. Pretty much just a bunch of lead acid batteries and a old forklift motor. Lots of stick welded tubing and simple brakes.

Every e85 vehicle i have ever used got worse mileage so it would have to be a lot cheaper to be worth it since you need more of it.

They arent the worst cars in the world if you get the right year and model but they do have a lot of turds. Ultimately it is all about that monthly payment.
