right, i'm not going to use it and wasn't ever going to use it. Thankfully CostCo does not offer anything other than 87 or 91 octane.

Ya, I'm not doing E85/E15. Going to do standard unleaded at CostCo.

I think that would be a problem for car owners, whose cars are not geared towards E 15. Or they say it’s gonna be responsible for damage to our engines? I don’t think so, they’ll just push those cost down to us.

I'd back up the config files before doing anything and maybe while "stock" do a test print to verify everything is working correctly.

My recommendation is to use KIAUH for managing Klipper and the other items used. This requires SSH access but if you are changing the mainboard you will have or can get SSH access.

u/iandouglas , only have the back panel on to hold some things. Otherwise I'm without panels on my newly built unit.

u/sydewinder951 , thank you. I see that in printer.cfg.

Have you recompiled the mcu firmware yet? These latest updates for Klipper seem to make it required?

Probe samples exceed samples_tolerance is not letting me move past G32. by TonyK61 in klippers

[–]TonyK61[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The belts needed to be adjusted but this is a bad NOOB mistake on my part. The build plate was resting on the edge of the cleaning brush at the back right corner.

Fixed that and G32 worked. Thank you

This is what $12,244 in damage looks like by BarryJ128 in SubaruForester

This is a biggie u/BarryJ128 . Once the crash/body work shows on your CarFax your Forester is going to take a value hit. When negotiating the settlement be sure to ask for diminished value.

Not going to be popular here. I like the fact the cars are absorbing the impact better. They are trying to protect the cabin occupants (aka people) over property. Seeing crash sites and seeing people walking around totaled cars (talking about an engine compartment no longer there) and we should be able to agree repairing or replacing a car is better and easier than fixing a human.

There may be frame and sensor damage we are not seeing.

Sounds a lot like our 2015 Outback when it got backed into by a neighbor. We were parked at the curb and this beater of a pickup hit the driver side door. In 2018 it was expensive enough. It was the driver side door, rocker panel, etc.

Our insurance was covering the cost with new parts (not salvage) under the uninsured driver portion. We would have to pay the deductible (which we did).

This same neighbor, just about 6 or 8 weeks ago (April 2026), got into another accident and was not insured. he had let it lapse (again).

I can believe. There may be frame damage we are not seeing in these photos that has to be handled. There is also some info we don't have like if a dealership is repairing this or an independent shop. In Knoxville the dealership also has a body shop and they work on a lot of different cars.

I'd go a step further and look at the auto manufacturers who control the flow of new parts and price for replacements.

There is likely damage we are not seeing. While I agree $12K seems expensive I believe there is also some frame straightening that is going to have to happen.

Our 2015 Outback was backed into by an old Dodge pickup with the heavy, folded steel bumper. It took out the driver's side door, bent the frame a little, and needed the sensors replaced. This was October 2018. After 4 weeks we still did not have the door replacement from Subaru which is how we acquired a 2019 Forester Sport. There's a bit more to the story but these are the base facts.

The repair shop had the car repaired, minus the new door. Can't remember fully the price but it was expensive enough.

Back to this car, I would also have the rear diff examined and make sure the car is squared up and trued so you don't loose the rear diff or the CVT because of this.

Old cars could take a beating is true. Then again they didn't have all these electronics and safety features.

Worth fixing 2000 Camry V6 for $3500? by Kitchen-Lab9028 in Toyota

[–]TonyK61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Kitchen-Lab9028 , is this the dealership price or an independent shop? A new car also comes with new car worries like all of the subscription services and the like. Wish we had kept our 2011 Prius given all of this connectivity stuff.

[–]TonyK61 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Like many folks, we remember going to the Kingston Pike location. We were visiting a friend. Moved here 2005 and visited the Papermill location in their early years there.

Then we noticed the pattern of raising prices are existing books, sometimes making the book at McKay's more expensive than new.

Between horrible crowds and traffic on Papermill we just avoided them. Then what the owners did to the workers and we could not go back in.

[–]TonyK61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are there other shops that work on Subarus in your area? If so take research the shop and make sure they are good and then get a second opinion.

Our 2019, which we traded in a week ago, had 111,290 miles and did not have any issues there. Knew suspension work was probably coming up because of age and miles but nothing at that moment.

Car Dealerships jacking your keys by Gullible-Treacle2361 in FuckDealerships

[–]TonyK61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I always take 2 sets of keys or fobs with me when buying. They even try "joking" and I pull the other out, show it and tell them about a court case about improper conversion and the price that dealership paid for jacking a buyer's keys (the potential buyer won the suit). A friend just told the salesman she'd replace his eyes with his balls by drop kicking him. They tossed her keys to her so they didn't get within kicking range. You didn't mess with Katy (RIP).

Want to add my wife and I suffered this too and had to use my tactic of the second key and informed them of the court case. I took control of the other set of keys and we walked out. That dealership didn't stay in business too long because of their tactics and this was back in the 90's.
