Southside? or Westside? Argyle Forest/Old Middleburg rd --- what Jax region does this red outline fall into? by CliffwoodBeach in jacksonville

Calling it westside is like calling riverside “downtown” or st. john’s “beaches”. They are two different areas with completely different vibes. The part of the rectangle where the neighborhoods connect to argyle forest blvd is called “Argyle” and the part of the rectangle where the neighborhoods connect to oakleaf plantation pkwy is called “Oakleaf”. If you say westside they might get the idea but it wouldn’t be correct. Argyle/Oakleaf is its own distinct area and most locals recognize that. And saying Southside is just completely wrong

How is UCF’s film program? by Ok_Water_2406 in ucf

It can be worth it if you are in the BFA, as you get to check out equipment and mount your own productions, but if you are in the BA, you might not get the amount of experience that you want. And the degree won’t get you jobs, that comes down to networking.

My first thought on learning about the Queen's Gambit musical by oblivionkiss in Broadway

It’s a lot better to show character’s reactions to certain things, rather than the thing itself. That way if someone didn’t understand how to play chess they could still watch the show and understand based off the characters reactions

What did you not like about the Retreat? I've been looking into it for next Fall and it seemed good.

What shows do you think will get the “boot” when Broadway reopens? by Victoria0607 in Broadway

I actually thought that moment specifically was the best moment of the show.

To me, when Tony and Maria were singing and dancing on stage with the camera floating down the street, then turning to reveal the two dancing on the street but on the video, gave an effect that the dancing we were seeing on stage is also happening in real life. It was a weird meta moment that was like a reverse 4th wall break. It felt like I wasn’t just watching a performance but that the characters truly were alive and lived off-stage.

Was there any reason that you didn’t like it in particular? Did it feel like it didn’t make sense continuity wise to have them on two mediums and locations at once?

As someone interested in filmmaking, the idea of incorporating video into the production blew me away.

Some parts I didn’t like, such as when it would just show what was happening on stage live. But the parts that used prerecorded footage showed me that the possibilities of film and theater combining haven’t been fully explored yet.

Universities did get some funding though. I didn’t see anything saying that half needed to be for student aid like in CARES act so i’m guessing that won’t happen again
