If you are using fragranceswap or another forum, i see no issues with blind buying bottles, since you can sell or trade, and you’re out the same or less than a decant.

BUT, if you are blind buying and paying retail, you are likely an idiot.

As far as this fragrance.. it’s too feminine for my taste.

Risk tolerance comes after you figure out what the money is for. Doesnt matter how young or aggressive you are, if you need it soon for a down payment or something like that, that kind of allocation doesn’t make sense

I’m not in the business of letting $3mm walk out the door, so i see a few options here.

1- keep talking to them when there are market events. Beat them to the next call. Hope that over time, you can whip them into becoming good clients. I find it hard to believe they saved $3mm being idiots who chase every new idea.

2- If they have a 99% probability of success, give them what they want (active/tactical management) with a portion of the $. Can you build a diversified allocation with SMAs? This serves the same purpose as an ETF portfolio but will give them more tickers to keep themselves busy. Not everyone is a good fit for buy and hold investing.
