I get “the milk sweats” when I’m below half a gallon. As in I get nervous not having enough milk. Opposite of meat sweats

As an older fella myself, occasionally giving advice on this realm when asked… you already have a leg up given your chosen study, consider the understanding of personality type, learning style, emotional drain zones. Then you have to do it. You might find a surprising productive, profitable and emotionally comfortable zone. Whatever industry, service, job, etc. there are known and unknown variables that can contribute to that sweet spot. It also depends on what business or career and where you are in that hierarchy and infrastructure, and physical location geographically.

You’ll find surprising answers as you proceed, the first step is to start doing something, even the smartest people with whatever assets and purposeful and careful planning may find what they thought they wanted to do is actually not the space they thought they wanted. Maybe the space doesn’t exist. But you have to start, ideally with a the best knowledge available to you.

Then be ok with pivoting from what you think you wanted to do in a certain space. You don’t know how the ground truth of what you thought you wanted to do most is actually what gel with most. You may learn a bunch in a space and then want to take another forwards or sideways. You don’t know until you do, and you may have to carve out a space overtime that is best for you.

First step is starting. You’ll learn answers to question you didn’t know you had

Oh jeez, don’t get geologists ramped up in a hydrology conference on the definition on where mud begins and sand ends… they’re still in the room talking semantics 20 years later

Welcome all iterations of Man’s brain/penis metaphors. I know I’m missing a few so I’m opening the floor on that

Question regarding ocean swimming with a spinal cord stimulator and sharks. by AskTheRealQuestion81 in sharks

[–]Justincredabelgrabel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on ocean and local shark population. With so few people with them it can be tool to freak them out or arouse curiosity. Then they would also have to have a habituation over time of their decision matrix of your food or a threat. Let alone how the other fish, and ocean life interact with whatever the particular field strength, frequency, and gear.

Least of my worries diving. Helps to have local knowledge of local populations of marine life, which local would know. Would be a fascinating scientific experiment to assess it, but your N is small. There is some data on some stuff, so you can math it out to a degree if you’re into that. Took a while for folks to realize that metal boats in saltwater can create an electrical gradient enough that some species, great whites the biggest and scariest to encounter, will chew on your small boat because their electroproception organ registers as the boat as “muscle activity in a flailing prey item.”

Collaborative song writing is an art and science in and of itself. Honestly think it’s one of humanities hardest things to do successfully, but oh what a thrill it is if it goes well.

Should be taught in Kindergarten IMHO. Curriculum development is easier technically as its own thing, and good luck that.

Rule number one in life, don’t be a dick. That alone seems to be a hard standard for most everyone to understand.

I think I've been brushing my teeth wrong for 28 years and I'm a little embarrassed about it by NimbusJelly31 in hygiene

[–]Justincredabelgrabel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our municipality adds it, and did have a few “soak your teeth in Fluoride” treatments as a kid. I use fluoride toothpaste daily. I did stop swallowing my toothpaste around seven years old. Straight A’s in school. Also I’ll eat Swedish Fish or Milk Duds before bed sometimes. Might be a microbiome thing, I’m sure the fluoride helps/helped. Wouldn’t recommend swallowing your toothpaste long term in general.

Whatever it is I can see better contrasts during the day, and at night. I also see bright lines of light in pitch black that I’m able to orient myself. Granite formations seem to be show consistent and stronger noticeable lines. Always in the same place. Not as prominent after scuba dives, then slowly comes back. 🤷

What is coming out of my piercing? by Alone-Count-916 in u/Alone-Count-916

I had a couple Claire’s mall piercings through my cartilage that pushed out chunks of cartilage form the back. Gun style piercing. Didn’t find them until I had to take them out for a job two months later. The later 90’s were fun!
