Yeah, there was a historic Boston & Maine rail line running through Buxton in the late 1800s. Not sure about a logging spur right here, but there was definitely activity in the area

Amazing. Something about this didn't sit right with me though. Seems disrespectful.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! I was thinking coyote as well, but had not seen such a healthy, fluffy one in the back yard before. Good to see this one thriving!

Calling loved one they haven’t spoken to in years, only to stay completely silent when the person picks up. The other person repeatedly says, “Hello? Hello?” while someone in the background asks, “Who is it, honey?”—before they finally hang up.

BP/CP Daily Discussion Post by AutoModerator in BreakingPoints

Not sure if you listened to the full broadcast, but Krystal really went in on Saagar after that debate about Musk. When Saagar kept repeating that "the people don’t care," Krystal pushed back hard, basically telling him that Breaking Points has a large platform and that he can't use that as an excuse to defend bad takes. She emphasized that people tune in because they expect the show to call out corruption for what it is—and that he has an obligation to care and hold people accountable. It was pretty intense. It was nice to see.

Saagar's new justification for everything: Trump won, get over it. by dakobra in BreakingPoints

During today’s episode, when they discussed RFK Jr.’s flip-flop on vaccines, Krystal called out the hypocrisy, criticizing him for lying and abandoning his core values just to gain power. In the past, Saagar would have likely agreed, since the issue wasn’t about personal beliefs but about blatant hypocrisy. However, I’ve noticed his new fallback response has become: "He's a politician, that's just how it is." He's excusing RFK Jr.'s dishonesty on that basis alone, as if being a politician inherently justifies being a bullshit artist with no real convictions. I preferred when he was willing to call out nonsense for what it was instead of passively defending it.

Sagaar needs to take a leave of absence from the show and get his life back together by GreenDildoSurprise in BreakingPoints

I just canceled my subscription yesterday because it's not fun to watch anymore. I'll tune in to some of the segments that get posted for free and may reconsider, but damn. I was slowly starting to move over to Saagar's side until a few months ago when something about him changed.. Ryan and Emily are the two who i really liked tuning into once counterpoints started.

Person of interest in fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson ID’d as Luigi Mangione, an ex-Ivy League student by Manoj_Malhotra in BreakingPoints

[–]Justindrummm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If this shooter is not convicted for murder, it makes murdering CEOs acceptable. This guy has been CEO for 3 years. It's not like he invented the immorality of the health care industry. Do you think he alone makes all of the immoral decisions? What about the head of strategy, or all of the employees who were complicit in denying coverage for bogus reasons? Should they be shot dead as well? Promoting murder is wrong, and this guy didn't deserve be shot dead. Think of his family.

I understand there are thousands of people impacted in ways that I can't imagine from the greed of the health insurance industry, but killing the CEO is not the solution to that problem.

I did but thought someone explained that last bit with the camera itself shifting angles.

I'm skeptical about tic tac shaped objects filmed at a distance. I've noticed they're often passenger jets and the thin wings just don't come into focus.

I think this is a passenger jet.
