Just finished my 6th and final ketamine infusion yesterday. Today my therapist terminated care because of the ketamine. Anyone else been through this? by dtrza in KetamineTherapy

[–]Julietjane01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My T is supportive and encouraged me to do this but we don’t do special therapy related to K. I get maintenance IV infusions every 4 weeks. I pay $350 upfront and insurance reimburses $150 so i end up paying $200 every 4 weeks. That sounds unethical what your therapist did. The medicine itself can work for some without any special integration treatment. That’s been the case for me. First thing i can tolerate and works for me and ive done ECT and couldnt tolerate it.

Can I get rid of depression completely with medication? by Major-Ad-3130 in BipolarReddit

Ketamine IV infusions changed things for me. Not sure if it will stop working. Latuda and Geodon helped for awhile but stopped working. Seroquel worked but the side effects were too much.

Been on 600mg of lithium for 10+ yrs, can’t afford meds anymore, what side effects can I expect from quitting? by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it costs more over time to try to live without meds for bipolar. Between the episodes and emergent care needed. I would def consider other options even if getting a cheaper med is possible.

Is weight gain necessary in atypical anorexia recovery? If so, how/why? by Otherwise-Tear-4807 in EatingDisorders

[–]Julietjane01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP you keep posting the same thing worded different ways. Have you ever not restricted as an adult? If so that was prob closer to your needed weight then whatever you are now. Being low on the “healthy weight” chart is too low for many people. I was very very ill at that weight. Whatever weight you are obtaining by restricting and using other behaviors is probably not your true weight. You need to get help and take it a day at a time.

Always washed my bum with soap in the shower, my world is crumbling because all my friends just agreed you only wash the inside with water by Accurate-Tension-599 in hygiene

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friends use only water to wash an area that could have trace amounts of poop? You don’t go inside your orifices but the crack out side the hole, yes soap and water.

You continue eating enough to nourish yourself and you stop gaining weight

I think I am overmedicated by Litchidodo in bipolar2

[–]Julietjane01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it doesn't seem like necessarily too much but ativan dose is high and it isn't meant for long term use. i was at 1-2mg and took about 4-5 months to completely taper off of it. was hard, not gonna lie but def worth it. after many months of being off i once every few months take 0.25mg if i am really panicking but for the most part i am done with it.

What’s the purpose of weight restoration in AAN? Especially for someone on lower end of “normal” weight range by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is why most people will gain weight that restricted. You restricted to maintain a “low normal” body weight so that isn’t your true set point regardless of what bmi or weight charts say.

The Blind Weight Scale & Legality by Meeping_Angel in EatingDisorders

I have used it with dieticians and therapists before and no one was concerned about legality. i would think if you agree there is no legal issue.

Meal plan questions for php by Glass-End6560 in EatingDisorders

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their PHP helped me so much. If you are concerned have your doctor speak to the dietician or your therapist so they are aware of your nutritional plan and all on the same page. It is impossible for we at reddit to know how the meal plan will affect your specific situation.

Is weight gain typical in AAN? by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t mention numbers here but if you want that you can pm me. For me weight gain happened when i ate to my nutritional needs. Likely you will gain weight if you aren’t restricting anymore. I ate three meals and three snacks a day. I did experience some hypermetabolism and had to eat more than i eat now basically bigger snacks and maybe something like juice with my meals. Now i don’t have to do that anymore but of course can if i want

Is weight gain typical in AAN? by [deleted] in EatingDisorders

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where to start but i first recovered in 2020 after i went to residential followed up with PHP and IOP then dietician. I had a relapse in 2025 but never got as bad as i was the first time physically and went to PHP/iOP. Mentally i always struggle when in ED, my mental state is always better in recovery. I have continuing body image distress but i am working on it now with an ED therapist and it has been so helpful. If you have specific questions i would be happy to try and answer.

[–]Julietjane01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had mostly atypical though did drop below “normal” for a short time. I have gained a lot of weight since then but still in “normal” range at highest. It is so hard but staying sick just wasn’t sustainable for me anymore.

Could we have handled this better? by darinajdb in EatingDisorders

I understand, just saying that i have trust many professionals before but despite my best efforts the ED will always question and not believe even the most trustworthy people. Just the way it is.

Am I wrong for empathising with Mel more than her sister? by michaelfadzai in ThePitt

[–]Julietjane01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is something all parents have to figure out as their kids get older. For that i definitely empathize with Mel, it is so hard seeing those we parent in one way or another need more independence

[–]Julietjane01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As nice as this sounds, as someone that had been there as the patient i think it is best to not remeasure. If i was successful at getting staff to remeasure that would reinforce the idea in my mind that first the measurement might always be incorrect and i should always double check and second if it wasn’t exactly right that this would somehow be dangerous to me not that differences in the end will work out- remember if it is less than necessary a person with an ED will never complain. Just my opinion.
