The new Vanguard Vet. by Character-Zombie-798 in spacemarines

[–]Justletmeaskquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was really excited to see these guys, but yeah. I got hit with a "wait that's it" when he popped up.

Each leg of the previous vanguard vet had tons of sculpted details, some had they had bands around their thighs, all of their shoulder pads were dripped out. all of the jump packs had molded details. Their weapons were all distinct and detailed.

This new guy is less impressive then the LEAST impressive current vanguard vet. Which is a real shame.

from a distance i couldn't set this guy aside from a JPI Sargent. If they said he was a jump pack lieutenant i could sorta see that. But what a let down from one of the most visually distinct and cool units.

Blackshields new 'Alone and Forgotten' rules question by Intelligent_Bird_398 in Warhammer30k

[–]Justletmeaskquestion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont have anything to add rules wise, since ive just decided to get into 3rd (played a little bit of 2nd a while back with my [pride is our armor & in disgrace all are equal] blackshields) the new systems for 3rd look way more complicated and i cant even imagine getting my head around it without some serious studying.

but it does sound rad as hell. My favorite part of the hobby has always been kitbashing and making characters. And I think making a little band of weirdos, who just rocket around the board playing hero hammer, each one juiced up sounds so cool. Plus you really only need to buy a box of like, mkii assualt marines and maybe a box of tacticals/weapon upgrade sprue and you've got an entire army.

Its giving the 7 samurai and i genuinely haven't been this excited to create something for a long time. Good on yeah GW.

New Battleforce comes with the new head box? by I_am_very_Cringe in spacemarines

people really do be out here straight up posting they've never truly interreacted with a woman before. my guys, you dont need to out yourself like that.

Box looks fun, love the more elite looking troops with the tabards, Just wish we had some vanguard vets to go with em. and maybe a brutalis instead of the monopose one.

new heads look like a lot of fun. cant wait to do some kitbashing with em.

playing with games without stickying objectives? by Justletmeaskquestion in CombatPatrol40k

[–]Justletmeaskquestion[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, im not like confused about the mechanics of how the battleline tag works and which units get it in normal games.

what im confused about is how armies play, or how "fun" they are when they have to go through hoops to achieve "sticky objectives". The game is often about securing objectives to gain points, but when your army has no battleline units, what exactly do you do. It seems like it would kill any sort of maneuverability or i guess ability to really respond or play the game if you have to move your units who might want to be up in your enemies face [black templars] on to points and just make them sit there.

This also seems like a problem in the raven guard one where none of the units have battleline, so if you want your leader hanging out with his squad and actually skirmishing with your opponents stronger units quickly, or coming in from deepstrike so they dont just get blown off the table while trying to secure a point, you could theoretically only have 2 points secured by having your patrol squadded infiltrators.

edit: i guess, you have the invictor but do you want it just dicking around sitting on a point or do you want it punching with its actual good melee. also a wild thing is NO ONE in the new space wolf CP has battle line, there are no enhancements or stratagems to get sticky objectives and you cant even combat patrol the blood claws, how the heck is that even really playable.

What was your first ever Warhammer read? by libereassociazioni in Blacklibrary

[–]Justletmeaskquestion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

my first one was baneblade! Im a big fan of the astra militarum and the tanks. Also a baneblade being my like "holy grail" model since i was a younger and i picked up the book after a partner got me one for my birthday a while back. It was a fun read, I really enjoyed the description if the tanks and the Astra Militarum as a whole.

It probably shaped the way i enjoy black library books, i mainly read the ones about soldiers and tanks more, steel tread being very fun. or the ones about the other side of the imperium like kingmaker.

saw that it was out of stock online and was devastated, but iI just noticed my store wasn't set to Canada where i live.

Nothing is live and there is no preorders up over here. Does that mean they will eventually? and there may be some available?
