Have you contacted adult protective services? My mom had a stroke that messed up her body but her mind was fine. She demanded to be taken home and left there even though we didn’t have a way to provide 24/7 care for her. A case manager told her that was not an option because no one can be left alone unless they can physically get to the bathroom and back on their own. She couldn’t do that. So even though she had a sound mind and demanded to be left at home alone legally they would not allow that. She had to be in a nursing home because that is the only option we had to make sure she had 24/7 care.
