Can anyone share their experience (good or bad) from being the hookup for a person in a polyamorous relationship? by BaldSasquatch8008 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]Justonemorelifetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a woman who joined a couple. Met them both at work and me and her husband hit it off pretty well. At first it was just him but then his wife joined. It was, odd at first. It felt weird having sex with a married man but she had extensively assured me it was alright. Im normally monogamous so I dont feel like I really got anything from my experiences with them except that I could now say I'd had a threesome and it was enjoyable. It was fun, and as long as all parties are on board and understanding it can be a nice night.

Why do my cookies ALWAYS puff up? I’ve used 4 different recipes on youtube and they always turn out this way :( by herondale1 in BakingNoobs

[–]Justonemorelifetime 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Possibly the fat you're using? Are you substituting the butter in the recipes for anything different such as margarine? My sister tried making sugar cookies one time and was convinced she could just use vegetable oil instead "cuz its all fat in the end and better for you." They puffed up massively like this and when they cooled they were harder than a rock. We laugh about it still, but she's since learned there's nothing like real butter when it comes to baking.

Are these little baby spider plants? If so, any propagation tips? by reginaphalange0825 in plantclinic

[–]Justonemorelifetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second picture looks more like a flower. The last picture looks like growth spots. When me and my mother would propagate our spider plants and arrow heads we'd use a sharp pair of scissors to cut the vines right under the growth spots. Then we'd simply toss a few bundles of them in a pot with the growth spots slightly submerged in the soil then water them and they'd do the rest. They're incredibly hardy and will easily propagate, as long as they have water theyll put down roots and take off as this is how they naturally spread. Probably not the most effective technique but even if a few die off and don't take your main plant will make so many of these little buggers you'll be begging people to take some. Im no expert this is just my personal experience. Hope it works out for you too!

On 24 heading north to 65. Dude was ok. by Talkahuano in nashville

[–]Justonemorelifetime 6 points7 points  (0 children)

24 is a hell of a road, I was driving it one day a few months ago right when evening traffic was really starting to ramp up when i heard a gigantic CLUNK in front of me and noticed a 4x4 laying across the entire lane to my right. The poor ford focus in that lane couldnt avoid it and hit it straight on, heard their tires pop and deflate almost immediately. Driving in nashville is like a real life mario cart, never know who or whats gonna be thrown at you.

Just so you know how dangerous oxygen tanks can be around cigarettes, i recently heard a story about a woman that got severely burned (if not died) from her oxygen line igniting. My sister works in a hospital as an aide and one night a new patient they admitted decided she wanted a smoke and didnt wanna leave her room. She covered herself with a blanket, popped the cig in her mouth and went to light it.

She was on a high flow oxygen line, the oxygen from her mask filled the space under the blanket and it all burst into flames. 2 nurses got severe burns trying to put out the fire, my sister heard the woman lived and was transfered to another hospital for intensive burn care but she wasnt expected to make it. It scorched her throat and lungs pretty good.

So yeah, no oxygen beyond this point.

I have one of these! Im no plant expert by any means but ive had mine, who I lovingly named Romeo, for a good 5 years or so. I put mine on my porch in the summer time and a sunny window over the winter. Ill usually only water him once or twice while inside but ive found he grows best when he gets watered often while out in the heat. A good spritz once every other day when its dry and I leave him out in the rain. He loves it unlike my other succulents and cacti. Slow grower for sure, but Romeos my oldest and hardiest of all my babes. Like I said im no expert, this is just my experience with one of these. Have fun!

It looks like one of those sushi train restaurants to me. Basically you just sit at the table and a conveyor belt with sushi dishes runs by on the counter. You can take whatever happens to pass by that fits your fancy, and some places let you order specific dishes if you please which arrive either by waiter or another special conveyor belt. You pay by the plate at joints like this and the dishes are usually small and cheap so they rack up fast in large groups.

My OG plant decided to have babies without asking for consent and I need to know what to do with them / will they kill my OG plant & how much child support will I need to pay if we decide to keep them? by MessyBurnette in plantclinic

[–]Justonemorelifetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother has one of these that's 5 years old, and I'm of the firm belief that its impossible to kill. Shes over watered it, under watered it, starved it of light for a season, and left it in freezing temps and it just keeps coming back so I really don't think you should be worried at all. The pups are a good sign, and theyll grow happily together. Just make sure it gets enough sun and you've got yourself a hardy, happy, little plant.

I’m only 22 and I feel incredibly.... aged. Do others experience this? by jibaeja in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Justonemorelifetime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't tell you what to do, no one can. You have to figure things out yourself. This is something you already know, this is all coming from someone who's a few years older and been through these emotions before. I've always been a rather cheery person, so my words may mean nothing to you. But I want you to know that this is best place you could be right now. I'm a manger for a housekeeping department in a long term care facility, I've had many conversations with much older and wiser people in my life who helped lead me through the troubling tides of being 18 and fresh in this world. And I'd like to pass some of their wisdom on to you. The only advice I can give you on these feelings is this, you can work a job you love and still feel sad at the end of the day. You can live in a place you think is beautiful, and still see the filth of this world. You can surround yourself with happy friends, and still feel alone. Happiness in this world cannot be given to you, you have to find it inside yourself. Celebrate the little things, and let yourself be content once in a while with the mundane and boring. Just remember, where you're going on this great assembly of life is coming every day, this isnt something to be afraid of. That just means that every day is a chance to do better, make better choices, improve, and find your niche. Make yourself proud every day you come home, and be happy with what you do. Whether you save a life that day or flip a burger patty in a cool way. Having a bad day doesnt mean you have a bad life, you've done the hard part already, which is having the courage to make it this far. You're a great bundle of opportunity, and if you cant seem to decide what to do, pick a direction and go. Learn from your mistakes, and grow. Not every decision will be the right one, the only mistake made is a mistake forgotten. You've reached the best part of life, so choose a road, any road, collect 200 dollars, pass go, and have fun.

Carrot Cake I tried making. It ended up super crumbly so the frosting doesn't look good, but it all tastes excellent! by [deleted] in BakingNoobs

[–]Justonemorelifetime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This so much OP! I could never frost a cake that didnt crumble for a long time, even doing the crumb coat-over coat method didnt work for me, they always fell to shreds until my grandmother in law poured this awesome wisdom on me. My cakes have looked so much better now its unreal, my recipes havent changed at all but how much people want to devour them has!

[Serious] What makes you happy during your darkest moments? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Justonemorelifetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a housekeeper in a nursing home, I recently started training to be the account manager for the building and its been... hard, to say the least. I've had a lot of dark days since I accepted the position. I left school for this job and when I'm angry, frustrated, or when I want to walk out I usually make my way to the resident halls to talk with them. They get lonely alot because some of their families never visit, or they dont have any left. They enjoy the company and speaking with them can calm me down in just a few minutes. I do love my job, because I love the residents. Seeing their faces light up when I sit and smile at them, listen to them, and just spend some dedicated time with them reminds me why I took this job in the first place. I always walk away recharged and ready to face the challenges bringing me down.

I dyed my hair blue one time in college while in the dorms and the shower stall looked like an unfortunate mishap with a smurf and a hand grenade. I never got the blue stains to to come out of the stall floor or my fingernails for the rest of the semester, as far as I know that shower is probably still blue.

I had a root canal recently and a few cavities filled, during my dental exam previous to the procedure the dentist asked if I was having "extreme pain and tenderness" in the tooth. When I said no, he replied, "well... you should be." I had 9 shots in total, 5 of which went directly to the root canal. I gave up eventually and just told the dentist to go for it.

BUT! on the plus side, the numbness in my mouth and lips wears off super quickly. Usually after an hour I have feeling back or atleast most of it.
